QUOTE(seanlel @ Sep 27 2010, 08:36 AM) OIC, I plan to wear long jacket outside then sweater and t-shirt (maybe long john) inside... would it be fine during winter? I will be in Tokyo and Kyoto... I don't think you need to wear that much inside since they'll have heaters. Wear the sweater and long johns plus jacket outside.

QUOTE(seanlel @ Sep 27 2010, 08:44 AM) What about if I walk in street? Will I see snow during this period of time? doubt it. it rarely snows in Tokyo, and when it does, it doesn't stay so you don't get the White Christmas look or whatever. QUOTE(fifi85 @ Sep 27 2010, 08:53 AM) ya got ground tour. Justneed look around. 7 days in tokyo will bored u to death. I suggest going for some side trip besides tokyo. I spent two weeks in Tokyo and I wasn't bored. What are you talking about?

QUOTE(matt85 @ Sep 29 2010, 11:14 AM) It's cold, especially strong wind breezes past. Back then in end-March, it was so cold (i didn't have long john on), i could hardly walk to my hostel from eki. Long john and wool socks are a must do you really need that much on? I wore jeans and a t-shirt plus a heavy winter jacket. Done.

QUOTE(matt85 @ Sep 30 2010, 08:16 AM) It wasn't much actually. It's just long sleeve shirt, a simple coat, long johns, cargo pants, and socks for me. You have to take into account that kids are more vulnerable to cold weather. Getting sick during travel is a nightmare. lol I wasn't talking about the kids. of course they need to wear more

if you go to adjacent stations, they don't cost more than 200yen, it's usually around 160-180yen. If you go further, even from Yokohama to Tokyo it's just over 500yen one way.
