QUOTE(daron @ Apr 5 2010, 09:53 PM) guys, is rm1865 to Osaka with return flight reasonable? RM1.8k I think is the normal non-promo rate... with promotion, you should be able to find around RM1.3-1.5k prices. i don't know what is the lowest fare offered before.. it's the cheapest i found so far.. Tokyo is much more expensive.. So to answer your question - yes, RM1.8k is reasonable. During peak seasons or last minute bookings; you'll be looking at around RM2.2k or more. |

QUOTE(e-jump @ Apr 6 2010, 10:31 AM) to those who went for a ride on shinkansen, did you use JR-pass? I think you're covering a lot of cities in a short timespan so getting the JR-pass should be good for you. Just make sure that it's covered in all the cities that you want to visit. It'll definitely be cheaper compared to buying individual shinkansen tickets traveling to each city.should i get one? the cheapest is 28kyen also, isnt tanoshi a cook? he should have a restaurant somewhere, amirite? |

QUOTE(daron @ Apr 6 2010, 12:05 PM) thanks guys. It really depends on what you want to do.if going to tokyo or osaka is the same price at rm1.8k, would one is more preferable? Planning to go Tokyo and Kyoto around 8-10 days.. Is 10k per person including air tickets sufficient? If you wish to cover Tokyo and Kyoto only... then for sure it's better to fly to Tokyo and you can travel to Kyoto via the shinkansen which takes around 2 1/2 hours only but if you wish to cover Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka... then it's a different question and it'll depend on how many days you plan to stay in each city and what you plan for your itinerary. RM10k including air ticket for 8-10 days travel I think should be sufficient to cover the basic food, transport and accommodation. This post has been edited by PsyCHZZZ: Apr 6 2010, 12:25 PM |

QUOTE(rockasd @ Apr 12 2010, 08:58 PM) i plan to apply for management trainee in japan therefore i would like to know the following: 1. It depends on your personal level of comfort but I think on average it'll be somewhere around 150k inclusive of accommodation and utilities.1)what is the minimum living cost in Tokyo 2)the company is located in tokyo therefore which location should i rent instead of tokyo. 3) i heard that they treat china people worst than the mat salleh therefore we as a malaysian, will we received the same treat as china people or mat salleh. Please follow this link and read the discussions that follows before/after that. It was a discussion we had in V2 about cost of living. 2. You can rent in Tokyo or slightly outskirts of Tokyo (places we known as sleepers city) but the problem is... are you comfortable with travelling 1-2 hours each day to work in a cramp-packed sardin train? 3. It's not a general consensus. It's just a matter of the people working in the company and of course your own attitude towards treating your colleagues and work. Added on April 13, 2010, 12:29 pm QUOTE(v1rtual @ Apr 12 2010, 09:47 PM) any news about sakura blossoms in tokyo?? This week has been pretty windy and its raining... so the sakuras petals are falling fast. You should still be able to catch some in the larger parks eg Shinjuku Park, Ueno Park but they're definitely past the peak. i will going to tokyo on the 18th, will there be anywhere that are must to be seen? this will be my first time to tokyo This post has been edited by PsyCHZZZ: Apr 13 2010, 12:29 PM |

QUOTE(v1rtual @ Apr 14 2010, 09:59 PM) i will be staying in keio plaza hotel in shinjuku..so i assume it is close from shinjuku park?? When you arrived at the airport/hotel/station, find any travel information counter and get the Tokyo Subway Map or you can print it out from here http://www.tokyometro.jp/global/en/service...routemap_en.pdfthis will be my first trip to tokyo city though, so dont really know much about it btw, roughly how far is keio plaza from akihabara?? planning to shop some camera stuffs I know it looks like it's super confusing If I'm not mistaken, Shinjuku Park is on the other side of the Shinjuku station as compared to where your hotel is. You should also get one of those Tokyo tourist guide map (should be free at all Travel information counter) and look for the Shinjuku map. It's not exactly near but it's not too far also... the thing about traveling in Tokyo... you gotta be prepared to walk. G'luck. |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Apr 15 2010, 04:47 PM) Damm...my meaning is Chinese calculation.......if in chinese calculation is one > ten > hundred > thousand > million > ten million > hundred million > Thousand Million > billion I think you're confusing yourself even further. In English cal is one > ten > hundred > thousand > ten tousand > hundred thousand > million > ten million > Hundred million > Billion You see the diffrent? In chinese calculation china population is 13billion / english is 1.3 billion ...SO guangzhou CNY capacity is 1bilion (chinese) / 100 Million (english ) ...SO 100 million is Total Japan Population So i do nth wrong...Guangzou station is holding whole Japan people in one station. Shanghai , beijing , guangzou city population is same as whole japan 100 million population. Chinese numbers are based on increments of base-10 system thus, (1) one > (10x1) ten > (10x10) hundred > (10x10x10) thousand > (10x10x10x10) ten thousand > (10x10x10x10x10) hundred thousand > (10x10x10x10x10x10) one million etc... So, we do NOT skip from thousand direct to million as you mentioned. In any case, Ghuangzhou station might be more packed than Shinjuku (as per your claim but if you have a link to show some stats will be best); I think the definition of "busiest" means that the station served the most number of people in a day by means of counting the numbers of entries and exits. Not simply the matter of during peak season eg Chinese New Year. |

QUOTE(stryfox @ Apr 20 2010, 04:34 AM) Hi. newbie here. Here's what I can suggest you look into for your list - I bought JAL offer RM1250 return. arrive narita 28may 7am and depart 3 june 1130am. what is weather like? been reading this thread. can anyone assist how to plan the trip? place to go? my main requirement (if possible):- (1) want to go and get souvenir at all japan hard rock cafe (Fukuoka, Nagoya, Narita, Osaka, Osaka Universal, Tokyo Roppongi, Tokyo Uyeno Eki & Yokohama) (2) visit mount fuji (3) cover tokyo (possible in 2 days?) (4) temple visit not a requirement (5) check out nightlife (with live music). anyone can recommend? travel using JPR to cover all cities? hotel budget RM300++ per night? thanks. (1) Get the address of all the Hard Rock and then cross-reference the exact location using Google Maps. On Google Maps, you can then see the nearest train station to the HRC. After that, use http://www.hyperdia.com/en/ to plan your travels via train. But to get souvenirs from ALL Japan HRC in 6 days is "almost" impossible due to the traveling time required even with JRP. You can definitely cover the one in Tokyo (Ueno and Roppongi) and also Yokohama and possibly the one in Narita if you make a quick stop en-route to the airport. (2) Best to join a tour for easy no-frills trip to Mt. Fuji - Check out :http://www.japanican.com/tours/tourdetail.aspx?tc=GMT01TYOOF800 (3) Definitely can't cover Tokyo in 2 days but if you list out the places you wish to go; we might be able to advice on how to group them together based on distance and easy of travel. (4) If temple visit not a requirement; then you can skip places like Asakusa, Meiji-jingu in Tokyo etc... (5) First place that comes to mind will be Roppongi but since I'm not really into live musics etc... you can check out http://www.frommers.com/destinations/tokyo/0085021118.html Added on April 20, 2010, 10:52 am QUOTE(e-jump @ Apr 20 2010, 06:23 AM) kawaii bijin dess Nice. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by PsyCHZZZ: Apr 20 2010, 10:52 AM |
