If your Blu-ray player has decoded the HD audio, it's already become LPCM format so there is no way your AVR can know that it was in TrueHD or DTS-MA.

The only way to see the TrueHD and DTS-MA light up is to bitstream from the Player and let the AVR do the decoding. Unfortunately you mentioned before that you are using the LX61 as your amp. This set doesn't have HD Audio decoders built-in and therefore can't accept bitstream HD Audio.

So you are stuck with the Blu-ray player doing the decoding to LPCM. You won't be able to see the HD Audio info displayed but rest assured you are still getting HD Audio.

Depends on whether his PS3 is the old Fat one or the Slim one. If fat PS3, then it won't be able to bitstream HD Audio.

Yes, that's the one. Sorry I wasn't more specific, it should be HTZ-LX61.

Don't try to show off, type all capital letters . In the first place Kianwee was just replying that he agrees the FAT PS3 can't bitstream HD Audio. Don't try to give him lesson about LPCM which he already knows.

Haha, those guys don't read what has been going on, just want to show how much they know only.... The HTZ-LX61 is actually a DVD Player HT System. As such it has no HD Audio decoding capabilities, but it does comes with a HDMI input for connection with a separate Blu-ray player which can do the decoding and send it to the LX61 as LPCM.

No further thoughts necessary. Whatever need to be said , have been said . Just enjoy your system, even if it doesn't light up the True-HD and DTS-MA logo, you know it's there.

Watched that movie so long ago at Cinema, I can't remember what the story was about any more. What a PITY
