Waw, Camel Bank says
AmResearch reaffirmed its contrarian BUY rating on MAS following release of its 4Q09 results. Its fair value was lowered to RM3.50/share from RM3.90/share - after factoring in dilution from MAS’ one-for-one rights issue. "Our valuation is still based on PBV of 1.8 times - at par to historical average, in line with trends at regional peers," it said. MAS swung to the black in 4Q09 registering a core net profit of RM28 million - excluding unrealised derivative gains of RM582 million. Its 4Q profit reduced full year net loss down to RM673 million - outperforming AmResearch's and consensus estimated FY09 net losses of RM950 million and RM800 million respectively. QUOTE(chyaw @ Feb 23 2010, 05:18 PM) E O - The beauty of having Loan Stock ( convertible and irredeemable ) is Co does not have to pay back in future . Warrants would also improve cashflow in future ( if converted )So not likely to be sued by bankers for defaults of loan repayments etc. Co also did recent share buyback at about 99sen. Added on February 23, 2010, 6:05 pm QUOTE(zamans98 @ Feb 23 2010, 05:52 PM) Most likely writing back of lot of bad loans due to improving of economy.Banks should report better profits if previously " providing excessive" bad loans in the accounts. Now deemed to be not necessary. Just wild guess only. Lazy to go into details. This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Feb 23 2010, 06:23 PM |

UPdates on E & O PROPERTY developer Eastern & Oriental Bhd (E&O) (3417) has reversed a third-quarter loss, thanks to its effective pre-emptive balance sheet management strategy and higher contribution from the properties and hospitality divisions on the back of increased revenue and lower finance costs. It posted a net profit of RM10.5 million in the three months ended December 31 2009, a reversal from a net loss of RM4.4 million a year ago. Revenue increased 28 per cent to RM90 million for the quarter under review, from RM70.2 million. "The balance sheet management strategy included a capital injection of RM236 million from the group's recently-completed irredeemable convertible secured loan stocks issue exercise," it said in a statement yesterday. Net profit for the nine-month period through December 31 2009 increased nearly fourfold to RM27.1 million from RM6.9 million a year ago. Revenue rose by 25 per cent to RM278.7 million, compared with RM222.8 million. E&O said it will continue with several property launches this year. In early February, E&O launched the first block of its landmark Quayside Seafront Resort Condominiums project in Seri Tanjung Pinang, Penang, achieving a take-up rate of more than 50 per cent of the total 298 units. Buoyed by this encouraging response, the group plans to launch the second tower by the second quarter of 2010. |

QUOTE(chyaw @ Feb 24 2010, 10:29 AM) I'm not sure why you said the wait is over... last month, I sold my E&O at 1.18. Make $350 only. Actually, now is a good time to buy E&O if it can sustain its earning. E & O got healthy Cash Balance of rm 600m.KKB up too much jor. Waiting for it to drop below 4.00 Though got loan stock of rm 1billion, would be converted to shares every now and then. So the turnaround has a good chance to be successful. I mean the cashflow is pretty good. This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Feb 24 2010, 10:38 AM |

QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Feb 24 2010, 10:39 AM) tonight we'll have New Home Sales data. Maybe good time to take profit for stocks going up too fast.we'll have Uncle Ben's talk as well regarding key interest rate. more bumpy road ahead ya? i read that the US market needs another 1-2% pullback on S&P 500. target 1080. Added on February 24, 2010, 10:44 am QUOTE(chyaw @ Feb 24 2010, 10:40 AM) Not sure why the price is tekan down so much. Yes . you are right.Maybe because ppl convert from loan stocks and dump it immediately? The conversion of loan stock is pretty high. Even the insiders could be doing that also. Time to go into hibernation.
Shopping trip over liao. Asia Powers ? Japan Jan exports up 41%, Asia demand booms TOKYO: Japan's exports in January jumped 40.9 percent from a year earlier, fueled by robust demand for vehicles and high-tech goods in Asia, the finance ministry said Wednesday. Exports grew to 4.9 trillion yen ($54.4 billion), marking the second consecutive month of year-on-year rise, the ministry said. Vehicle exports in January rose 59.2 percent with auto parts shipments surging 89.6 percent in the month, it said. Japan's exports of semiconductor products also increased 83.1 percent. Among key regions, Asia-bound exports jumped 68.1 percent year-on-year to 2.7 trillion yen. The figure underscored the rising importance of Asian markets in Japan's economic recovery. Asia-bound shipments alone account for 55 percent of Japan's total exports. Japanese exports to China soared 79.9 percent year-on-year to 920 billion yen on the back of booming demand for vehicles, semiconductor products and plastic goods, the ministry said. Exports to the United States expanded 24.2 percent to 710.4 billion yen and those to the European Union grew 11.1 percent to 580 billion yen. Overall imports in January increased 8.6 percent to 4.8 trillion yen, resulting in a trade surplus of 85.2 billion yen in the month, the ministry said. - AP This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Feb 24 2010, 12:02 PM |
