QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Mar 4 2010, 03:49 PM) You should buy long before the expected dividends. Actually, based on price today, less than 25%.Unless you do not have the confidence of getting any dividends. Added on March 4, 2010, 3:50 pm More than 30% profit, right ? BTW did anybody applied for the MAS excess share for the rights that was not excercised? If so, how much was it? |

Er... this is what I understand of the issue...
The rights (MAS-OR) lets you buy MAS shares at RM1.60. MAS is getting the money from people who are paying that price to get the share. However the "right" to buy the share at that price is not free. I bought it in the open market and then excercised it. I understand that there people who chose NOT to do it, so people can apply for the share at RM1.60 for those unused unit. But I am not sure if the application is "free". Correct me if I am wrong This post has been edited by PBB boleh: Mar 4 2010, 04:16 PM |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Mar 4 2010, 04:18 PM) It is not free, you must have -OR in order to apply for the excess one. OIC, so u cannot apply if you do not have the OR in the first place? Let say you bought 1,000 share of -OR at Rm0.10 to buy MAS 1,000 share at Rm1.60, so you cost is RM1.70 Now you apply the excess let say 1,000 share so you will have 2,000 share at RM1.60. Now your average cost become Rm1.65 after taking consideration of -OR cost of RM0.10. It is not free. Thanks, Learn something today. |
