guys, it will take maybe half a day for Customs to put in their records that your item have arrived. At the end of the day, Pos Malaysia will call you

Ahh...the thread has fallen silent as Jeffrey and EvilDevil awaits with high anticipation the arrival of their G73JH hehe.
For the new owners or future owners, I found a problem with the upkeep of my laptop. The mesh grill for the speaker area is a magnet for dust/dirt keeping. And it's hell trying to clean them afterwards. I am not so inclined on trying to take it apart yet . . maybe when the dust/dirt becomes too overbearing for my eyes and ears (if they block the speakers) I've also installed Dirt 2 and played a few games. To my surprise . . it actually is smoother than my desktop. My desktop rig : Intel C2D E8400 Asus P5KPL-AM Kingston PC-6400 DDR2-800 *2 Seagate 1TB HDD Silverstone ST56F Asus HD4850 512MB So for now, you could say I am pretty happy camper This post has been edited by tek: May 24 2010, 07:11 PM |

EvilDevil . . I would not advice you to head to Pos Malaysia Sepang without a call from them. If they haven't called you up, it prolly means your item has not been processed by them yet. Once it's processed, and they have a reference number, they will call you. Just telling you this so you don't waste your time and petrol driving to Sepang. And since you have that status . . they will call you soon if Customs tahan your laptop . . if not . .then I guess you will receive it by Pos.
USPS only delivers it until Sepang. you will have to understand that USPS stands for United States Postal Service, and thus they do not have door-to-door delivery worldwide heh |

QUOTE(EvilDevil118 @ Jun 1 2010, 08:00 PM) Nice software. That has been mentioned time and time again. It would actually give you a lower score if you benchmark it lolz. Maybe the bios enable overclock in buggy ? As for the touchpad, it is quite sensitive but I have no problems with its size |

QUOTE(EvilDevil118 @ Jun 2 2010, 12:22 PM) So u never had any gsod or bsod or psod ? I kinda regret touching the stock os, should have installed a new clean os with other drivers to test it out. I found the 10.4 so will give it a go. If I had PSOD . . you would see me crying here every other hour lol. PSOD would mean a RMA and that is a nightmare I do not want to face ever! Haven't gone hours on Dirt 2 or Grid . . has been having fun time with bro on LAN for borderlands taking down that damn Crawmerax |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Jun 5 2010, 03:00 AM) Another huge let down from the local customs. I'm being forced to pay the import duty as high as 19% which I have explained to them that I do not need to pay it as a student here. The most irritating thing is that they refused to read the e-mail that I have written to the customs. What on earth are they thinking? They act like they are the boss. F**K them! I really kinda worried now that I'm not able to claim it. Haiyz . . . Now I'm miss Malaysia so much . . . Malaysia are way better than this stubborn Germans . . . mark my word on that! Hey Jeff, this sucks. However, you should have printed out the official notice from Germany's custom website that states as a student, you are exempted from duty. Or even get the exact website ready. I am not sure what your email was regarding exactly, but if there are no response from them ( Ger Customs) then it is pointless. Germans are very well known to be arrogant, so take your experience with a pinch of salt. Hope everything goes well for you soon. |

QUOTE(Kaizoku @ Jun 8 2010, 06:25 PM) thanx bro....i've already check the site...might be buying from there..we'll see... anyways, one of my fren said, that the LAPTOP is tax free...BUT the WiFi that comes with the laptop MUST have AP.....I dunno how true is this.. I've ask my fren to give details...he'll revert back to me on that.... lol. thanks for that QUOTE(coolman91 @ Jun 8 2010, 04:06 PM) is BTO this online trust able ? Not sure if BTOTech sends to Malaysia or not. When I ordered they did not. http://www.btotech.com/ they have rdy stock for G73jh any model and can be CUSTOMIZE......... QUOTE(Radieux @ Jun 8 2010, 04:55 PM) Thanks for the info!! I actually won't encourage this. Reason being, laptop is tax and duty free. However, the backpack might not be. As for your parcel being opened up . . customs will need to open up your parcel to make sure its a laptop . . so its gonna get opened up one way or another unless you get lucky. If you're paranoid and can't be able to collect yourself in Sepang, I would suggest you making sure what kind of insurance is being offered by the reseller. Make sure you get one that says insured up to your doorstep. |

QUOTE(coolman91 @ Jun 8 2010, 11:52 PM) Tek The representative from BTOTech are quite active in the NBR forums..so I guess reliability in the states itself is not a problem. Do remember all these internet resellers depend alot on good reviews by their customers, so they should be ok. However, don't take my word for it . . go do your research and send them countless mails until you're satisfied. i do Pm them . they say they willing to postage laptops to malaysia but using UPS only .... and he say using UPS will reach my doorstep by not having KASTAM hassle ....... but i have some question is is BTO this COMPANY trusted ?? Sidenote: This thread has just reached 40 pages, and I've seen plenty of repeat questions that has been answered in previous post . . so go through them before asking a question. QUOTE(Kaizoku @ Jun 9 2010, 12:40 AM) ok..roger that......care to share ur experience? becoz last time i went to the Sepang Customs to take some documents (in which i dunno why my company didn't sent thro' DHL, UPS, etc) i got some bad experience...1st, i had to take a pass at one of the guard office...when reaching there, i was denied acces just becoz i am not wearing a collared shirt (wtf! how should i know the dress code or wuteva...) but after some explaining and a little bit of begging...ok..i can take my pass...but then i need some kind of letter from company, saying that THE PACKAGE is for me....ok after a few calls company fax the letter direct to the office..then i have to pay rm5 for the pass....huhuhu then got the pass...got thro the gate...got lost inside...huhuhhuhu....then reached the counter for retrieving my documents, got to pay rm30 for processing.....huhuhuhu.......btw this customs place that i mentioned is the one near LCCT terminal...izzit THAT same place where you collect your laptop?? Ermm..how do you call that a bad experience? It is called proper procedures (but I don't think you need to pay RM5 for the pass at the guardpost. I only needed to hand over a photo identification) |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Jun 10 2010, 06:54 PM) Hello guys, eventually I have successfully claimed/ cleared my Asus G73Jh-A2 from the Germany local customs. Congrats . . and didn't I already told you its HUGE First impression of this notebook? Ultimate content for its physical looks especially the rubberized and matte black finish of this notebook. It was extremely gorgeous no matter from outside or inside of this "beast". The only "little let down" is the size which is a little bit big for me but it is still fine enough for me. |

I would also prefer to have a keyboard protector . . but the heat coming from the keyboard is giving me doubts. When the laptop is off . . then I will just put the protector that it came with on top, but if the laptop is on . . I rather not have anything ontop. . . and my room is blardee dusty as well.
