but he reply me this ....>.<
I am sorry but until we have enough supply to fill orders for the ASUS G73JH
in the US, we will not be shipping it internationally.
*
Sorry to hear that.. I actually only contacted him when I noticed they have A1 in stock. So I didn't know they won't ship it internationally if they don't have stock, probably still very high in demand in US. You can try Gentech PC or XoticPC.. I think they have pretty good reputation too.

Found a link of comparison between A1, A2, X1, X2, X3 @ NBR. The differences are just between blu-ray/dvd, 2hdd/1hdd and whether backpack and mouse are included or not.

Then you have the BB versions of RBBX05 and RBBX09, which has 1600X900 screen resolution (either LG or AUO screen). We also have a TZ008X version in Aus which is same as A1 but with Win 7 Pro and an addition of a gaming headset. Hehe..

wohoo i pre-ordered and fully paid for mine on 15 jan and only just got it on 14th of this month becos... becos ahhh... rma larh. screen rosak doh.gif

bought from xotic total rm48xx becos delivered to my usa address, then private shipping to my place (free cos i work for an airline demmit). received mid march, then 2nd day screen rosak de. anyways asus malaysia performed the rma for me so can consider customer service not bad larh.

used it for the last 2 days and loving it. the screen is soooo pretty, my games look so much better.    smile.gif
*
Just curious.. Is the customer service in Malaysia better than US? How long does it take to get your laptop back? Did they give you a replacement or just fix the screen? Am very interested in knowing how's ASUS customer service in Malaysia since read so many bad experiences of RMA in US. Hopefully we can get better CS. smile.gif

My only "complains" so far are the chiclet keyboards. Those really suck tongue.gif I find myself mis-typing very often on the G73JH . . . and might just hook up an extrenal keyboard heh.
*
Seems like this is a common issue. Some G73 owners said they'll mistype a lot when they are fast typing and G73 have a bad space bar response too. Is that true? Wonder how fast do you have to type to get errors. tongue.gif Cos I consider myself not a fast typing person, normally typing speed around 50-55wpm. Hopefully won't have that issues. Haha..

i hope Malaysia already have all the spare part needed for this laptop..
*
I think its really hard to have spare parts ready when its not even selling in Malaysia. I would think that there's only small amount of people owning this laptop in Malaysia atm.

julchin: for me, the asus people were very nice and service was quite good. I don't blame them for the long rma time becos the model is not avail here.
*
That is true. As long as the people has good manners and know what they are doing. That's the most important thing. smile.gif

. . they will call you soon if Customs tahan your laptop . . if not . .then I guess you will receive it by Pos.

USPS only delivers it until Sepang. you will have to understand that USPS stands for United States Postal Service, and thus they do not have door-to-door delivery worldwide heh smile.gif
*
Woohoo~! Mine's going to ship today. rclxm9.gif Looking forward to my new beast!! Thus would like to know does that mean I will only have to go to Sepang if tahan by customs? If no tahan by customs where can I pick up my laptop? same at Sepang as well?

Another huge let down from the local customs. I'm being forced to pay the import duty as high as 19% which I have explained to them that I do not need to pay it as a student here. The most irritating thing is that they refused to read the e-mail that I have written to the customs. What on earth are they thinking? They act like they are the boss. F**K them! I really kinda  worried now that I'm not able to claim it. Haiyz . . . Now I'm miss Malaysia so much . . . Malaysia are way better than this stubborn Germans  . . . mark my word on that!
*
shocking.gif speechless.... Can you like make an appeal or file a complain to their head? Saying that they have a very bad service. I really hope you can get your laptop. Pray for you...

Anyway I finally arrive in Malaysia and now typing with my G73JH. This thing is HUGE!!!!! & not use to this HD screen as my old lappy has only a 13" inch however this beast is still AWESOME!!! It is so so SO quiet!!! Make my fujitsu S2020 look like a san ba po. xD Can't wait to do a clean install and maybe upgrade to 209 BIOS as well.. rclxms.gif

Make sure U back up the system 1st by creating the 6 DVD. Just in case u need to restore to stock. Alot suggest to upgrade bios via the bios menu there and load the file into a flashdrive. IF can make sure ur flash drive is reliable and fresh format.  brows.gif Have fun with ur new toy or babe.
*
Thanks for your advice~ I actually bought an ASUS recovery DVD from the reseller site, will that be the same as the 6 DVD? Cos I know that some people have trouble backing up the 6 DVD so thought getting the recovery disc might be the same as the DIY backup disc. & would just like to ask if you know how to get a "clean" Window 7? I've looked at the method that Kalim suggested in Notebook review but as I'm a actually a noob I don't quite understand the getting a window 7 part. Maybe I should just buy a new version, would be easier. LOL tongue.gif

Yeah it was absolute amazing!! Everything is so fast!!!

When I first turn on the lappy it took only 30 seconds, maybe less (I have a SSD installed). I was shock and thinkin to myself, is it ready to go? As my old one normally took me 5 mins to get to the desktop and being fully functional xD i.e able to open any window without crashing it.

Wow,  yours with SSD? You customized it before shipping it over to Malaysia? I'm really envy you guys can finally test the unit out.  cry.gif
*
yeah i'm too lazy to have to look for one and install myself (not like its so hard to install) so i just customise it before shipping... tongue.gif performance is absolutely spotless!

sayang sayang... everything is gonna be OK. smile.gif if not.. just make a scene in front of them vmad.gif

shocking.gif USD 15 for the recovery disc right ? And only cost me like 0.9 each sumore sony brand dvd-r  doh.gif . Well I installed a clean os on the other drive and dual boot. One os is the original and another is the new one. I still haven't activate yet. I believe u can activate it with the COA below ur lappy as the original os which comes with the os uses different serial no. I think it's not yet activated yet.  brows.gif
*
Haha... I'm someone who just like to spend so please pardon me... tongue.gif Yeah you are right I could have just activate the COA below my laptop instead of getting a new one. U reminded me about that. Hehe... too eagerly to spend my money... (I'm a shopaholic icon_question.gif )

Hi guys...I am thinking of buying the ASUS G73JH-A1 laptop, in this forum i saw that u can buy online from Xoticpc, provantage n Mucro....so, what is the availability of this model on that website? in Mucro they are saying that "end-May" I've emailed them asking the availability of the model, but have yet to receive an answer...huhuhu...one more thing... as far as I know, buying/importing laptop is tax free.....but now i'm reading here that some forumers had a very very BAD experienced  with our customs..huhuhu.....I am now in doubt...should i buy, or shouldn't buy online.....huhuhuhhu....pls advice...
*
AFAIK you have to check their websites or email them to ask about their availability. Mucro... hmm... if you have read previous posts you'll know they are lack of communication so its hard to get an answer from them. I think in this forum most owners don't really have BAD BAD experiences except Jeffery (poor thing... btw how's your complaint going?) who's in Germany. Mostly your laptop will either get caught by customs and you'll need to pay RM18 to fill in a form and pick up from sepang or ask pos malaysia to help you, or you get lucky and they deliver the laptop straight to you doorstep, which is my case.

If they have availability and you pay straight away, most US reseller will ship pretty quick and you'll get the laptop within 5-7 days using USPS.

Good luck with your search. smile.gif

Please note that i personally don't recommend flashing, there are ways to fix GSOD with non-stock driver but it doesn't work 100%, so before you even think of flashing please try this:

1) Uninstall creative audigy audio utilities
2) Use latest Realtek drivers (I had problem using this driver, when headphone is plugged in the speakers isn't disabled)

*
I think in notebookreview someone mentioned that you have to install Realtek Drivers twice since the 1st time you install it it only removes the old drivers when you install the second time it will work fine. I've tried it and it worked. =) Since when I first got my laptop seems like the reseller has uninstall creative for me cos I couldn't find any program named "creative", and when I plugged in my headphone I have the same problem. The sound was coming out from the subwoofer. Then I install the realtek drive one more time and the problem is solved. No sound coming from the subwoofer anymore. Hope that helps. =)

It'll reach the hands of our national pride - POSLAJU , and they'll usually take off the next day it is dispatched from Kastam, the courier van will leave 8.30am in the morning and return to base at 6pm, the operating hours for POSLAJU is 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday (i check the website says 9.30pm but the Poslaju representative told me its 6.30pm, so better be safe than sorry), so if you remember your tracking number just visit the nearest POSLAJU to your house after 6pm, since it's after office hours, better wait there earlier.

Added on July 5, 2010, 6:51 pm
Oh thanks! i'll try that, because the bass boost function is enabled in Windows 7 sound enhancement with latest Realtek driver, really make a big difference for the tiny sub, btw what they meant by the creative driver is named audigy something something in add/remove program.

Added on July 5, 2010, 7:15 pm

Oh my bad, once the Realtek is installed the bass boost is gone, so i assume the bass boost function only exist in Windows 7 default driver, for me, that causes hangups even using windows sad.gif
*
Thanks for the clarification of the Creative software but I still couldn't find any program with the term "audigy" in it. =P Well doesn't bother me much as my laptop is still functioning properly (fingers crossed). Oh yeah now I remember that you'll lose the bass boost thingy if you uninstall creative software. But the speaker is still good to me. I'm happy with it. =)

No i mean the default windows bass boost, it's way better than what creative software have to offer, more "punchy" compared to creative bass boost, well for the audigy software you'll only see it when you restore it to factory default, i can't reinstall right now because i don't even know where to download it, and i can't be bothered, theres nothing i miss about it haha, attached is the bass boost for windows 7, try uninstall your realtek and use the default windows 7 drivers, choose high def audio device and enable the bass amplification for 100hz 15db.
*
Thanks Evern I'll try it out now. biggrin.gif
