Just wondering whether it is OK to wear garter belts and stockings to the office as opposed to pantyhoses. My job requires me to wear hoses or stockings. Does anyone actually wear garters to the office nowadays ? And where can I buy them ?

Yea will try to get one to try. I am looking at separate garter belt and stockings. I already have stockings, so I just need to find garter belts

I am really surprise if any company in Malaysia require their female staff to wear garter belt and stockings

Just wonder if this is specifically mentioned in your employee handbook that female has to wear garter belt with stockings or just hosiery?

Personally I do welcome and can't ask for more if ladies in Malaysia is willing to put on garter belt with stockings - you might call me retro but I suppose such intimate clothing is slowly missing in action.

My company does not require female staff to wear garter belts specifically but rather female staff who works in customer fronting departments have a certain dress code to follow

Glad to know there are numbers of female still love to wear pantyhose or legging. To me, it shows the feminine of a girl more than usual.

but maybe can wait till march? because there will be sales...

Well. If you having trouble to get some, you may look at the local ebay stores. Perhaps they have what you looking for. The price is quite cheap and they provide mailing services too.
I'd bought some of my stockings & garter belt there for my own collection. And I got a various of colors of stockings now in my closet.

Well..I move around a lot out of the office, so it could be really hot and sweaty (and sticky) wearing panthoses

Oh, I have the quite feeling as you do. I sometimes do change to stockings instead of pantyhose. But you can buy the sheer type. I wear stockings cos its easier and comfort for me. Can I know where & what brand do you bought? I actually like to keep them as collection too.

well, some of my stockings still intact and i never wore them

I used to buy a few pairs every month from Jusco or anywhere that sells them. The don't last that long anyway. Recently bought a few pairs from Marks n Spencers. A bit pricey for stockings, but they seem to last and hold shape longer.

I did bought few pairs last week from Jusco and its the one like plain top thigh high stockings. Im curious about the durability as I wore them most of the time. One thing is that I need to attached to my garter and its quite loose. I wonder if there's any garter with metal clasp rather than the plastic one.

Most I've seen so far has only plastic clasps. I had one with metal clasp before (forgot brand) bought in Singapore but it was poor quality and it started to rust

Does ur garter last long? I mean worn out. The plastic when worn too much seems not last for mine. It broken and I have to buy a new piece. Any recommendation? I saw some stockings nowadays comes attached with the garter itself, and it says open crotch. Have u try it before?

I think it's perfectly fine to wear garters and stockings to work. In fact, wearing stockings is a manners, I never wear a skirt without stockings to work. Although nowadays most woman don't care.

Anyone here like seamed stockings ? It's retro, classic and I find it very classy. I like to check out this site : http://vintageseamedstockings.com on seamed stockings. I've seen La Senza selling it, only 1 type, don't know if they still have it, it's really hard to find it in Malaysia. I can't even find it in Singapore or US. I think it's more popular in UK.

True, there are not many choices in Malaysia compared to Singapore or UK. Most ladies nowadays here prefer pantyhoses. I've been wearing hoses and stockings ever since I started working, so I will feel a bit bare if I don't , especially with above knee skirts. Never tried seamed stockings. Think it will be too much for the people in my office to accept..haha

I would say, here is actually a trend follower.

If you find seam stockings ara just suits you and comfortable. Do put them on. Be trend setter.

The country would need such group of people to bring fashion alive.

Stockings and garter, wao ! I must say, I have pair of corset that comes with garter belt. I think I made mistake of buying it a corset style , is way too hot to be worn in Malaysia. Wacoal was the brand, if I remember correctly. I came across triumph before , full matching bra and panty set that comes with garter belt, that maybe good option to try, metal clip is a must for safety, while hectically running around the last thing to expect is the plastic clip gave way...in malaysia choice of practical day to day use of garter is pretty limited, many thought of it as for bedroom use.. maybe internet is a better place to shop.

Stockings that designed for garter belt usually does not have elastic bands around it, I happen to buy a pair while traveling, it will not stay up properly without garter, nice that it did not leave behind nasty looking mark like knee-hi. Having said that, garter belt and stocking probably is best for humid condition like Malaysia. Good for you,..

I am more into support style pantyhose out of necessity , if you are on your feet all the time, might be good for leg health in long run. Maybe you should check out support style stocking that provides better compression..

1 nice thing about stocking is, with one leg ruined, another usually is still good to go. Save on $$$

Good and interesting write up. Like you, I'm wearing hoses and stockings for the very same reasons. Agree that Hanes and Leggs are the much better brands to get. I do wear support hoses most of the time. The issue that I have is I have to move between airconditioned and outdoors a lot and I'm one of those that sweat fairly easily.
So far the times that I wear garters, I wear those normal thigh high stockings. Have not came across stockings without the elastic band. Yes, they do leave marks at the end of the day

Ya, the stockings designed for garter belt usually do not have elastic band around it like stay up do, that is the difference. I did not see any locally, some internet place probably available.

I read somewhere that, usually is best to leave belt at maximum length, get the stockings clipped on properly , then only starts adjusting by pulling the clip upwards to the desirable height, at least that what I did and it seemed to work. Another hint, wear underwear outside, is more convenient to visit washroom.
