hero 2nd hand. search the garage sales section of LYN under the mobile phone and accessories section.
if you dunt mind a lower res camera ie 3.2MP, you can get a first hand HTC Magic at 1350.
I can recommend you some sellers here..

brand new ori hero? 1.7k?
have been reading , wonder whether the wait for new mobile gadgets is worth.
and whether the new gadgets are between 1.5k range.
+ve or -ve on samsung jet purchase now?

the cheapest ive seen is 1.8k for hero but you can search.. probably AP set is slightly cheaper now

seems to be a decent phone except the short of amoled screen and camera.
htc magic is using android os rite?
btw would u suggest samsung jet or htc magic/htc tattoo/htc touch 2

Addon: htc magic still has this disadvantages?
* No video-call camera
* No Flash support in the web browser
* No file transfers over Bluetooth
* No FM radio

1. Currently all android phones do not support video calls. I do not think this function is supported as yet.
2. Certain flash apps do run on its browser I think. But you can overcome this by downloading Opera browser for android. Opera for ANdroid supports flash
3. HTC will release android 2.1 on Magic later this year which supports bluetooth file transfer function. But you also can root it to the customized roms which support bluetooth file transfer function
4. Yup it doesnt support that.


jet and touch 2 are winmo phones. jet doesnt support gps and touch 2 has very very low resolution screen

ahh i would like to use video call
only downside for me is that there's no video call if not i would be taking htc magic.
for samsung jet, the downside i heard is that samsung has left "jet down the drain"?
not much application for it etc etc.
any other recommendation for 1.5k budget?

sorry bro, if youre looking for a phone with video call, all current android phone models dont have it, hero or magic or even nexus...

for a no frills phone with video call and touch screen, id go for n97 mini. Its below 1.5, I got one recently on LYN for 1.4 something

hm, n97 mini ap 1.4k? would like getting ori but out of budget. last resort would be n97mini as n-series have sluggish laggyness issue?

i was playing with it a bit. I bought it as a gift.
i felt it was ok. but of course test it out first before purchasing it.

anyway.. this is android section our conversation has steered away already. best you go to LYN nokia n97 mini thread and ask those users there

i recommend samsung galaxy s or htc desire, both great phone but desire got more support from dev.

or better still save more money for htc desire HD, confirm worth it.
