Sharing my Notes for Bangkok:
Hotel Selection:
Avoid city center to avoid traffic jam and must be near to any BTS and 7-11.
Transportation:
BTS and MRT are widely used. For more than 2 people, taking taxi to travel within Bangkok city will cost the same with taking BTS but have to take the risk of getting into traffic jam.
Major shopping spots:[COLOR=blue]
Siam Paragon and Gayson: High end shopping center (similar with KLCC, Pavilion and Starhill)
Central World and Zen: Medium class shopping center which sells most of the medium range brand like FCUK, Esprit and so on. Isetan can be found in Central world.
Platinum Fashion Mall and Chatuchak Market: Wholesales cheap clothes can be found here and the prices depends on bargaining skill. Reasonable Average prices of clothes 100 – 200 THB, Bags/Belt 150THB onwards, Shoes 150 – 300 THB and accessories 10 THB -200 THB.
(Shopping tips: Ask the prices before start to check on the clothes to save bargaining time, i.e, we will only check on the clothes if the first asking prices were 250 THB and below or else for those who ask above these prices, it was hard to bargain from 250 THB to 150 THB)
Major attractions (things to see and do):[COLOR=blue]
Grand Palace – Entrances Tickets at 350 THB
Ayutthaya – Tour that we engaged was 650THB including pick-up, entrances fees and lunch.
Floating Market and Railway market – We didn’t have enough time to go
Various shows – Siam Naramit shows 900 THB and average prices of ‘agua’ shows 650THB (prices from tour agents and it is always cheaper than we buy over the counter)
Zoo and Aquarium – Also no time to go
Various Night view spot – to dine at open air restaurant for night view, it cost minimum 1500 THB per pax and for drinks only 450 THB, Sirrocco and Bayan Trees have high recommendation from the internet.

[COLOR=blue]Food and Drinks:
Places to hunt for food
- roadside, I only tried very little stall as I doubt the hygiene of those food.
- 7/11, love the 7/11 in Bangkok. We visited 7/11 at least once a day for food and drinks!
- food courts, the food from the Siam Paragon and Platinum Mall are good enough for me! You definitely will have problems in choosing what you want to have!
- restaurants, we only explore one in China Town which was really good! (The Thais love Jap food a lot but I didn't manage to try their Jap food!)
Must-have Food and Drinks list
