I am going to Bangkok for 4D3N. Is Pattaya a must-go place? I thought of going to Pattaya in the evening like 5.30pm and back to Bangkok at 9am. My itinerary as below:-

i think its too rush for u to go there late n back so early, most probably u can only catch a show there n walk ard the Walking Street n thats it.

speaking of Pattaya, those who visit there should go to Koh Larn as well, its juz less than an hour boat ride away.

Hi,

I'm going to Bangkok this coming weekend, got a quick question here.

Let say the AA flight time from Suvarnabhumi International Airport to LCCT
is Sunday 7.10AM and i am staying at baiyoke suite.

From the BTS map found online, the nearest station for airport from baiyoke is Ratchaprarop. Am I right?

What time should i depart from hotel so that i wont miss the flight ya?
If the earliest train couldn't make it, what is the alternative way?

I did some research and there are 3 mobile carriers in Bangkok.

AIS
DTAC
True Mobile

Which of it offers unlimited data plan?

Added on June 18, 2012, 1:31 amSecond day in Bangkok. Very tired due to walking from one mall to another.

Went to Sirocco. Very nice view of Bangkok from the top smile.gif

If possible, spend a nite over at Pattaya. For me, I don't like to rush.

How was ur trip? You should reach there around 2 hours earlier and spend time walking around and window shopping. The airport was huge.

I will be going to Bangkok on 4th July for 9 days. I know 9 days is a little too much for Bangkok but gf suddenly change her mind so we will not be going to pattaya or anywhere outside Bangkok.
We plan to stay at pratunam area as It is one of the main area of Bangkok. But instead of spending full 9 days in pratunam, I'm wondering if there is any area we can stay and experience in Bangkok?
Instead of Shopping, visiting temple, massage, movies, watch boxing match, any ideas how to spend the 9 days ? If there is nothing much to do, I think I will just stay at hotel swimming, exercising and relaxing. LOL

*anyone stay at baiyoke sky hotel before? Personally think that it's freaking cool with a rooftop bar, golf range, great location yet below rm200 which is affordable.

Dear sifus,

I'm going to Bangkok on 1st July(Sunday). Scheduled to arrive at the airport at 2.45pm(BKK time).
Planning to visit chatuchak market, as it is open during weekends only. Heard it closes around 7pm. *None if my and my gang been to chatuchak market before*

Problem is, our hotel is in Pratunam. If we were to check in our hotel and store our luggages, then only head to chatuchak, seems like alot of time will be wasted. We are thinking of directly going to chatuchak from the airport, bringing out luggages along. As it will be crowded with people, is it recommended to bring our luggages along?

I did some research of my own, seems like there aren't any luggage storage place in chatuchak market.(I hope I am wrong about this). I read some people just place their stuff in some florist shop and pay them for the service.

Anyone encounter this problem before? An ideal solution will be if there is a place we can store the luggage in chatuchak market (or nearby).

Please advise me on how I can effectively utilize the limited time. Thank you in advance.

I jus reached Suvarnabhumi Thai International Airport.

Bought TrueMove sim cards for my iPad prepaid dataplan at 400Baht and 100Baht fpr the microsim, total 500Baht. The plan was 1Gb data for 400Baht and valid for 30 days.

Also bought prepaid call sim card for my phone. The sim card was free in fact, but you have to top up the credits. I topped up 150Baht as i dun think i will call so often here.

Booked my flight to Bangkok on 1st October 2012, this being my first trip to Bangkok.

Then I noticed that Airasia will be moving to another Airport in Bangkok called Don Mueang on 1st October itself, so I guess I'm gonna be a 'guinea pig' for this change of location. sad.gif

on the bright side, the location seems to be closer to city center (Sukhumvit) wehre my hotel will be.
