Going to BKK 5 days 4 nights for shopping purpose only. First timer. Going to Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Platinum Mall and MBK. Which area should I stay? Pratunam or Siam? Any newer and modern budget hotels/boutiques? Preferably really close to shopping heaven.

Thanks in advance!

Read the feedbacks on tripadvisors for both Baiyoke Sky and Baiyoke Boutique.. don't think we'd be staying there.

Pratunam will be convenient for wholesales and Platinum Mall shopping, furthermore is cheaper compare to Siam area.

I recommend Tango Vibrant living place, boutique style accommodation with affordable rates.

http://www.tangobkk.com/home.htm

Got 10% discount for early bird booking, also check agoda maybe got further discount.

its just 3mins walk to wholesale market and 10mins walk to platinum walk. 5mins walk to airport rail transit. 1 station away to Siam BTS station interchange.

I paid below rm100 per nite with breakfast back in march 2011.

Thanks for the rec. Actually eyeing Tango as well. Did you try using the airport rail transit? How much is the ticket per person? Do you recommend taxi or airport rail transit?

i forgotten how much for the normal airport rail transit with stops all the way the station near Tango d. But its 100% cheaper than taxi's charge of rm35 per way.

Actually the airport transit is very convenient, its just located below of the airport. Just take lift down and walk abit only. If u dont have much luggage, just take the rail transit.

Coz u gonna shop, therefore go back that time can take taxi coz ur luggage heavier d lol~ biggrin.gif

if i didnt remember wrongly its around 90baht

We are going as 2. RM35 taxi charge is not too much though. Direct to hotel~
Anyway I'll keep your advice in mind. Thank you!

Have a look at PR Place Serviced Apartment.
Someone recommended it on one of the previous posts and I've stayed there 2 times since.
It's clean, ~3 mins walk to Airport Link, and ~10 - 15 mins walk to Platinum Mall.
For a one bedroom apartment is only 800baht...
I'm booked to stay there this year too. wink.gif

Thank you too for the recommendation smile.gif

HI. I'm wondering if anyone had tried other cruises at Chao Phraya other than the very famous Princess cruise? Is really worth going as many on tripadvisors suggested? So far I've only found one website where you can book the cruises. http://www.hotels2thailand.com have anyone used this site before? Is it reliable? They have the lowest price, RM73/pax for Princess Cruise instead of the RM130-RM150 others have paid. Anymore useful informations/advices/guides are welcomed. Thanks in advance!

I did some research and there are 3 mobile carriers in Bangkok.

AIS
DTAC
True Mobile

Which of it offers unlimited data plan?

Added on June 18, 2012, 1:31 amSecond day in Bangkok. Very tired due to walking from one mall to another.

Went to Sirocco. Very nice view of Bangkok from the top smile.gif
