QUOTE(IcyDarling @ Mar 1 2010, 03:29 PM)
vidic is professional enough to identify when to slide and when not to... If im not wrong, he forced Abgonlahor to move to his left, letting Vidic in front of him, thats why Vidic lunge in the tackle. Referee saw that. Thats why he did not produce the red. Though i must admit, he deserve a yellow at least. But facts, facts, even if referee against us or what, we still cant revert the result. henry's handball couldnt be revert even when it affects the WORLD CUP, i dont see how they can make us play again for Vidic.
*
Vidic always 'lunged in' once he's beaten for pace.. it's just one of those things he does these days. Forced Agbonlahor wide or not, if Agbonlahor got through that time, he would only have Kuszczak to beat although the angle would be difficult. But it's still a goalscoring opportunity as Bellamy did against Chelsea(and us from the left). Another ref could easily give him the red card there. The fact that it happened so early in the game helped his case too I think.

I read on some forum other forums, Agbonlahor was offside before that incident? Is it true? Then it evens itself out.. although we were punished with the goal.

Why the hell did Capello play Rooney for 90mins against Egypt in a friendly? Bloody stupid.

As for Owen.. just unlucky. He has been fit throughout the season, but bad luck strikes. We almost expected that give his history, but it could have happen to anyone. See Ando and O'Shea. He's been a good addition to the squad. He has the experience and ability of a top class striker yet doesn't complain being 2nd fiddle to the others. And looks like SAF likes him as well and Owen loves being here too. He'll be here for a few seasons and maybe even retire here. Now we're really relying on Rooney and Berba(he has his own problems too with his knee) fitness.. chance for Diouf/Macheda/another extra midfielder to get some more games that Owen was suppose to get..

One of the reason why Valencia doesn't celebrate too much..?

QUOTE(Manolo;@bigsoccer.com forum)
A painful story follows that celebration (if you're Ecuadorian, not Uruguayan). A victory in that match would have qualified Ecuador directly to the World Cup, hence the hysteria. Upon returning to the field, Valencia got a yellow card for "excessive celebration", which suspended him for the next and final WC qualifier against Chile. Almost 30 seconds after that Valencia goal, Uruguay tied the match. Then in the 94th minute, a penalty was called in Uruguay's favor, ending the match 2-1.

The final match was played in Santiago against an already qualified, relaxed Chile, without our star player Valencia, and Ecuador lost 0-1 and was eliminated. It's painful to even think about - but it's the reason we won't be seeing Valencia in South Africa.

We were lucky since their chance didn't go in in those last few mins. But we had our fair share of chances too. Diouf with a free header, then if he swung his boot instead of standing would have resulted in a chance for us..

I just wonder if Capello was being selfish and in order to protect Rooney for World Cup, he made sure Rooney would miss a few of our games by playing him full game last time on that awful pitch. A friendly against Egypt at home on an awful pitch in March. Well done ##hole.

Added on March 7, 2010, 3:25 pmAlso Capello is helping the Italians/Milan since he played and managed them before..? tongue.gif

If we start that, there's not much effective Plan B we can throw on..

Rodwell.. lots of potential, CM, English.. playing for Everton and doing his part. I haven't seen him much, but the thought of having a box to box English midfielder excites me. Would cost a bomb though.. not gonna happen with our finances the way they are right now although the Glazers might just sanction it if SAF wants him badly. But we have further questions marks over our squad.

LW.. GK after next season if Foster isn't up to the mark, and our CM position certainly isn't the strongest around although in certain combinations we more than hold our own against the best and we need a Scholes replacement.. pronto, although we might wait for Ando to blossom and fill the hole Scholes would leave.

But let's think again. Box to box.. english. 10 years minimum unless he got a boot into his head or Real came calling and he's a boyhood Real fan. If he's a 'real' deal, go for it although even 40m wouldn't be able to convince Everton I bet. We need agent Phil, Saha and Howard to do the talking into his ear.. "reject the next contract! Utd is the bestest ever!"

Added on March 9, 2010, 7:59 pmAs for immediate concerns.. Milan. They're not doing too badly this season huh? I thought they turn to old mans club or something and faded away. Seems to be back this season.. only a few points behind Inter? Rooney.. please come back.

Carrick suspended. Scholes.
Agree with that although if Rooney is fit, he will start I think.

Rooney - 30 goals so far. Another 5 and he will meet my target! I hope he exceeds it!

Yup. For him before the start of the season, would have been a great achievement. But now he should be looking at 40.

20m? It would take atleast 30-35m just to be able to enter negotiations with Everton I bet. Price closer or around 40m is what he'll go for with City and Chelsea around.
