saran: only kapcai carb have the 2T inlet. Bigger bikes like TZM KIPS don't have. I'd suggest getting a rubber cap and glue it shut to make sure no water gets in.

saran bro, I dunno what to to check on camshaft.
AFAIK, if we have the blueprint to the camshaft, such as the dimensions so we can measure it, for one. When put back to engine head assy, make sure use torque wrench. Can ask Yamaha service center what's the torque to tighten that. Check clearance to the valves, etc... |

Can the TPS be removed and separately connected to the throttle cable and CDI while using aftermarket carbs?

gua ada ini, haven't get to try it out yet. has the same material to the clover...
http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-gloves/racer-gloves/ but, in malaysia, i use driving gloves with a palm padding one... no knuckle padding. I think got lots of Fieldsheer also, cheap cheap RM70 can buy one... Added on March 16, 2010, 10:56 amdirtbike helmet the jaw part usually not very tough, right? I won't consider those full face helmets tho... a fren of mine had an accident before, face down, and visor cracked and cut chin. 9 stitches and he smiles funny... get a real full face lah. Added on March 16, 2010, 11:05 amCorrection: So it seems, dirt bike helmet also protect face pretty well... I think it's cool and aiiry too. http://zeus-en.ponet.com.tw/ponet/front/bi...Category=111317 Zeus website, but doesn't seem to have 606 model... webbikeworld has mixed but mostly positive review on an older 5 series modular helmet... I'd say this brand has made it global. This post has been edited by alexei: Mar 16 2010, 11:05 AM |

ARC helmets: There are two models, the Discovery and another one I think is called Pilot. Only the Discovery is made of fibre glass (or maybe the Pilot, whichever is more expensive).
RM140 is cheap tho. Added on March 18, 2010, 8:43 amserigala: The ARAI you got, the liner is fixed one, right? I remember I did a research when looking for helmet. RM130 on mudah.my about half a year ago. The seller told me got SIRIM, with fixed liner and he told me is 'ARAI ciplak'. I found them in store penang for about the same price... Mind you, this helmet also famous kena 'potong' one... Well, generally brand new helmet lah... I bought a bike last time, sold the free helmet to a fren, white color... got stolen within that week. Ok, I found RMC website. It looks new and has about 50 members.
joehunt: that avatar is generated at nokia website. It's a standard 2D barcode. BB should be able to read it too. That rubbery thing, AFAIK, is hard plastic shud not make squeaky noise. I'm thinking it may be the brakes, either front disc or rear drum. Good luck with that. |

I think I'd use older engine oil for my LC, if I have one. API-SG, instead of API-SM.
Another thing to note, is that the Shell Rimula X, is API CH-4/CG-4/ CF-4/CF1,2. (Shell PDF result from Google) This corresponds to API SJ (CH is SJ equivalent) and below. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I've mentioned this before, mainly concerned for the camshaft used in LC engine. In this case, it may apply to conrod bearing too. Critics to my opinions are welcomed. My experience tells me, that bearing is one of the fastest to go, being the first contact point from the piston. When that goes, so does the conrod. When the conrod goes, so does the main bearing... When Charge mentioned his engine got noise, that's what i thought at first. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Wiki: Motor oil Ball bearings Notice the major brand mentioned in the Wiki page - SKF. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by alexei: Mar 24 2010, 02:13 AM |

charge: I fancy having racing parts on my bike but not for daily use. I'm a lazy man now, try to use original parts as much as possible... my recommendations on the engine oil, and bearings are mainly for daily use with better reliability.

Charge, 170??? makes me wanna mod my bike too... now only 130-140...
any modded 4stroke can outrun me: EX5, Kriss, Lagenda, LC... Guess what, long time didn't ride my bike liao... I forgot my plate number. Quick poll, gathering TT in May? Added on March 25, 2010, 5:11 amI think LC is the most expensive bike among all kapcai. So, riding one is like driving a Mercedes among cars... some, just let the thrill of speed overwhelm them... me and my frens are still 2-stroke old schools... maybe someday we'll turn to the dark side and ride a 4-stroke. Note: 'dark-side' is just a matter of perspective. No offense to anyone here.. This post has been edited by alexei: Mar 25 2010, 05:25 AM |

I can relate the dislike for the smoke. Would you be upgrading carb to 28mm? Or recommend any shop for 26-28mm carbs? |

bro saran: can you intro places for 2stroke spare parts?
For the Proarm mod, maybe bro Alcalie can tell us what to do? Any extra welding on the chassis for reinforcement? Of course, if can share good kangtow for legit spare parts, we'd be glad...
