talking about 135mm, juz wondering how far should the photographer be away from the subject? assuming that he's using an APS-C body

im planning (and hoping) to upgrade my camera next month, i need some help deciding. should i get the a550 or a second hand a700?

because i have read quite a few bad reviews about the a550.

or should i scoff-off upgrading my camera and get gears instead?

some might find 135 a lil bit long for portrait when using it on apsc..depend on your shooting style/habbit..both are equally good..

for apsc 85mm would do the great job...but in terms of IQ 135mm is the king of portrait!!

albnok: the thing is im not too knowledgable on technicalities, i do think that the a550 will be a big leap from my current a100.

auww, how come not satisfied? compare to old film age where u use 24' film roll and full manual focus... what more u to ask?

but i thought composition is more important then a D3s (where it claimed to be most satisfied camera in the world)

coz they have to differentiate the level between a5xx and a7xx....magnesium body should only be found on semi-pro until pro body...

GOW3 is the last of the series...so have to pay more attention to it...

yeah...mayb the street price is like 3.5K to 4K...or mayb higher!!

yeah..i will still stick with a700 now(unless i suddenly crazy and buy a a850)...next would be Distagon 24mm!!!
