AhAhhAhhh bad news ! This evening while shooting outdoor... i attached my f42 on the light box ... a wind suddenly blown and the whole stand fall down...
Result: the clips for the hotshoe both Side broken ... now it can't fit to the flash stand nor camera ...omg..can it b fix ? Why r they in fragile plastic instead made from metal like other brand ;( any1 encounter this b4?
Today shooting become a bad session. No satisfying photos after the flash broken ;(
ha ha ha so nextime bring duck tape to attach the flash?
urm..
i think they build it with plactic to make sure the hotshoe is the only thing that gets broken..
imagine when the hotshoe is made from metal and when the flash falls then instead of JUST the hotshoe.. the whole flash get broken in two (or more)?
the same goes with the hotshoe connection port in the body..
imagine when a camera (attached with a flash) falls to the ground..
and because the 'attachment' is so strong then instead of the flash gets ripped o the body..
the flash suffer (broken into two/three parts) and the body also suffers..
so i think the hotshoe is sacrificed fairly..
he he this is just my opinion tho..
im using 2 bodies and both had fall from my grip and now i know why the plastic hotshoe is there in the first place..
i didnt work for the designing team but i think this might cross their mind upon designing the hotshoe...
