ive pmed so many ppl for their motherboard......notebookreviews said tht the m17x is upgradable....but heatsink is not the same. im planning to find a mobo n the heatsink for my i7. doc....maybe u can help.

i thought u had contacts from dell...yer friend. and i was hoping u could get yer friend to get me an r2 mobo n heat sink

its proven already tht the 920xm is better thn any r1 proc......but i still wanna keep my 280m....just wanna upgrade my mob, heatsink and proc

if i cant find it...i will have no choice but to return my r1 and get the r2....

finally...ive talked to a very good rep here.....finally!!!!

finally got the r2 mobo n heatsink product code. the prices he told me is far cheaper thn the other sales rep.

word of advice if yer trying to upgrade. dont tell them yer upgrading coz they wont allow u to upgrade. just tell them you WANT to buy the part. don not mention the word upgrade. and make sure it is the part you want. like ive asked them "is this the mobo that supports the i7 proc?" just make sure of coz they will have a habit of pulling out part tht is related to yer service tag. now i can place my order on the 920xm.

ps.....also try to get the product code from them whn they found they found the part for it. so if you get dc u can ask them to search for tht code. n it will be faster. saves you like 20 mins.

ive decided to buy 920xm from ebay....and the mobo $856....$500 dollars cheaper thn the other 4 reps tht i contacted. plus the new heatsink is $35. so i will have an i7+my lovely 280m with me. eventhough i kinda wanted to test out he 4870

correct and the product codes are the same if im not wrong....plus all the sales rep are the same as usual.

there is one time a sales rep puts down the phone while im still asking him question. i was asking a different type of payment. he got annoyed and slams the phone...boy...if i got his name and extension i would have complained to his manager.

not yet...still have to wait for dell to get my parts from the warehouse.....n thn wait again till they come to my place n insert it. thn i will ask them to put my ebay bought i7 920

the i7 920xm will allow multip gpu solutions to scale better, this is what was found on the desktop side of things at least
