Just win that EPL cup la...forget about porto Euro cup. haih...be more realistic...better get 1 cup then none.  sweat.gif  doh.gif

The more the merrier laugh.gif Who doesn't want to win every single trophies available? That said I hope our Fabs would be ok for the Porto match and I hope we could proceed to the quarter finals of the Champions League by any means this midweek thumbup.gif And Bendtner please bring your scoring boots because despite going into scoring positions, when you missed, you didn't score a goal thus screwing the great positional sense..

Shawcross not playing? I was hoping he would decapitate Drogba with a deadly spinning kick to the chin...

I would prefer Drogba to decapitate Shawcross..

QUOTE(Aeroberg @ Mar 8 2010, 01:06 AM)
It's unfair to criticize Bendtner when the same treatment is not given to Arshavin/Eduardo/Fabregas. Be objective a bit laa.....
Yes, I agree that Bendtner was wasteful but like what some said, I prefer to look at the positives. He was consistently getting into good positions. For a good striker that is the key. Goals will come. Burnley's game just wasn't his day. That's all.
It's actually Waddle. Chris Waddle.
*
For Bendtner case I hope he could score goals by any means..be it scrappy goal, using any body parts (bar the hand) to score or whatever. The main objective now is to decimate Porto.

About Chris Waddle,I guess no one bothers about him laugh.gif He was famous for his penalty miss in the WC.Should I call him brainless? laugh.gif

I never liked the word 'sacrifice'.Its all or nothing to me.We should try our very best at every competition.By doing that, the team will show the basic respect to the supporters. To bottle/sacrifice a match purposely is total disrespect to the supporters and football in my opinion. For the poll,I would take RVP!!

QUOTE(meaj @ Mar 9 2010, 02:53 AM)
When the going gets tough, Le Boss might have to choose. He may not risk 'all or nothing' approach. Because this season, he can't afford to have 'nothing'. A measured approach should be the best. When the time comes to calculate our chances, we better be prepared to let go. But don't get me wrong, because I do pray that he won't have to choose. We seem to be enjoying a lot of luck this year, so who knows, maybe we'll have players returning from injuries just in time to fortify the squad and suddenly depth is no longer a question to conquer both the league and the CL.

I understand the bullish mood in here after the Burnley victory. But there are some sobering results from past games against our rivals that says we should tread with caution. And honestly, we should.
*
Judging by the current situation, we had equal chances for both CL and EPL , I certainly felt its better to try to go for both.Back at the 08/09 season I could understand if we concentrate entirely on CL as we had busted our chances for the EPL title quite early on.As I said earlier, trying their best in every competition would be a respect to the supporters.I don't think any supporters would be happy if their team like gave up before the match is played eg MU vs Wolves 'reserves' earlier (well not as if Arsenal would do something like that when it matters..just using an extreme example and I hope you get my point icon_rolleyes.gif ).I admit I am greedier than Cashley and Greedybayor..so I hope we could win both.

I also understand the bullish mood after the Burnley match..especially what happened during the Stoke match. But now since we got chance, then I felt might as sure go all guns blazing, with great risk comes great reward(or lost tongue.gif ).I also agree we should tread with caution,or one game at a time, but our mission never changed since the start of the season, which is to try our best to win every match and win titles laugh.gif

QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Mar 9 2010, 03:28 AM)
I actually feel that we are lacking luck this season. Injuries have been a huge bane, while most of the hard fought victories are efforts of blood and sweat rather than luck. Luck is when your opponent gives you a winning goal (Diaby vs MU) or your keeper decides to be Santa Claus (Luk vs Porto). In fact, we are the ones who have been giving others luck.
I felt that maybe the 'luck' bro meaj mentioned were the occassions when we seems totally KOed from the title race only for our rivals to fall down badly. Nevertheless, it was also due to ourselves(as you said, hard fought victories) that we clawed back to the title frame.I totally agree with you though of being 'giving' others luck sweat.gif Hopefully we will be receiving the 'luck' back as we did some 'good deeds' so we would get 'good karma' in return laugh.gif Just joking icon_rolleyes.gif

I don't think AW will risk starting him. Maybe on the bench... but earlier he said cesc can't make it to the bench. We'll have more news today.
*
Isn't Cesc totally ruled out for the Porto match?Anyway Song is memang down to earth.Kinda funny when he allowed my friend and I to touch his hair when he was signing autographs for us laugh.gif Although abit regret not bringing the jersey for him to sign so ended up letting him and a few players signing my match programme laugh.gif .

Bro kimhoong I am waiting for the poll biggrin.gif So I can vote for my near favourite after Cesc, Robin Van Persie!Hehehehehe...

And I am really nervous for the Porto match..but I am confident we would win.

Nervously waiting for the match..so nervewrecking..I believe we could break this unwanted history of not overturning a 1st leg deficit for 30 years!Hope to see our lads decimate Porto!

Final score Arsenal 5 Porto 0!!MOTM I would give to Bendtner for the hat trick!!But Nasri and Arshavin did well too..we were dominant for most of the match bar the opening few minutes of the second half.Nevertheless, let us all enjoy this crushing win against Porto!Viva la Gunners!!
