I've never played Battlefield games before. From what it looked, it looks quite complicated with so many customization. Is the learning curve steep? Can I cope in BFBC2 without playing other BF games?

You don't NEED a lot of the customization things, it just adds to the fun. You can learn it as you go a long, normal FPS skills will keep the game fun for you long enough to pick up all the other stuff. |

If you prefer assault, but there's a tank beating down on your team, go engineer and take it out asap. Also there is such a thing as too many snipers. |
