I have many people asking me how to Connect so many Speaker's to my Computer, and instead of teaching every one of you individually, here is a Thread for all of you who want to Use their Home Theater System as their Computers Speakers.

How to do?

* First of you would need an RCA into Headphone Jack Converter which can be Bought From Any Hypermarket, Eg. Carrefour. It looks like this

* Secondly you would need some RCA cables to connect the Converter to your Home Theater system. It looks like this
user posted image

* Thirdly You need to connect the RCA cables to The Place where it Says *INPUT*the colors of these input places are usually Red and white. Like in this Pic
user posted image

Information about this

* if you want to Have "Surround Sound" You would need to have an Soundcard and you would also need More Converters and RCA Cables.

* If you wish to have as many Speakers as me. You would Need 2x 5.1 channel Amplifiers and Several Converters and RCA Cables

* It is not hard to do this things, it took me only 1 hour to Set up, No drivers or any Software needed. Just some Cables and Converters and of course an Amplifier

* Most Electronic Shops don't think it is possible to do this, But Rest assured it is. You May ask a few LYN members whom i Helped. They will tell you that this is Possible.

* It is not Really Necessary For you to use a Soundcard, unless you want 5.1channel Surround Sound or So on.

* Your Inbuilt Motherboard or even etc Phone,PSP,Mp3 Player can Be connected to the HT. As long as there is an Converter it will work.

ENJOY 5.1/7.1 On your PC! thumbup.gif

With ATI videocard, 3xxx, 4xxx, 5xxx and HDMI receiver, you only need one HDMI cable for both video and audio. 4xxx and 5xxx support 7.1 LPCM so you get surround sound for your gaming without any sound card.

Also, you can get those soundcard with DTS connect or DD Live, it can encode 5.1 surround sound into SPDIF so you can connect your soundcard to amp with one coax or optical cable. No need RCA cable. It's easier and can support DD or DTS for movie too. Soundcard such as Auzuntech come with DD Live and DTS Connect technology.

rclxms.gif Optical/digital solution is preferred for "newer" mobo with optical out cos most AVR older than 5 years should hv optical in...

Both signal optical/coax are DIGITAL..

The optical cable is also called TOSLINK.

The coax cable is usually labeled ORANGE in colour and have RCA connectors.

Even if the 5XXX series cards have the HD audio thing..but what is the point if the guys HT cant support it? tongue.gif

Some of us have the Newer HT that have Support. But for people like me who using the "Old" type of HT that dont have the Support thing...

how then?

Besides the converter thing also works for psp,handphone,laptop,Mp3,ipod and so on brows.gif

have you considered what about the people who dont have the luxury of upgrading their stuff?

that is why i created this thread.

and also do you think a mobile phone or Mp3 player has an Optical cable? or if the Amplifier doesnt have a Optical input.

Please Consider about the people who do not have optical and so on. wink.gif

What AMP are you using?

Mine Can Adjust Bass,Treble,Distance and stuff like that.

And there is a Nob which lets me increase the bass and treble

it's a NAD 302 amp
it's just a basic 2 speaker amp type
no 5.1 surround. just stereo
it has bass and treble adjustments but the bass isn't loud enough
trebles is ridiculously loud and clean lol

somehow the source affects the amp performance
for example my pc onboard sounded more bass than my psp through headphones
but when plugged to the amp,psp have better bass than pc
that makes me go crazy rclxub.gif

Hmm why dont you just get another Pair of Computer speakers and get a soundcard and make your system 5.1? laugh.gif

I had to lower my Bass settings at my AMPS Interface thing cause the bass was too much tongue.gif

Btw the trick i learned is Put your Computer Speaker Volume at like 50-60% loud and put your amp louder that would Make the Sound Clearer and more bass in my case la

Sometimes connecting the PC audio output directly to an amplifier is susceptible to interference and electrical hum, which can be quite difficult to overcome other than totally disconnecting the audio output jack. This, of course, defeats the purpose.

So we try and isolate the computer a bit, using things like this Xitel MP3 streamer.

At this point, we're still at the mercy of the DAC inside the computer; and usually we don't know what the chip is and how good it is. Plus analog going out from the computer is a strictly non-audiophile interface and suject to PC electrical noise.

So we need a digital output from the PC - and very rarely PCs come with onboard digital SPDIF outputs - be it optical or coaxial. SO we have a few options; most common nowadays is to use a USB DAC

Another option is to use an Apple Airport Express - but you'd be tied to using iTunes as your media player.

going from there, you get solutions like a Squeezebox, stepping up to Sonos and ultimately the Sooloos.

The Sooloos is US15K on the average, but you can build a enthusiast's version of the Sooloos... which looks really interesting.

I don't think i can get the "electrical hum" i've been using my HT as pc audio for more than 2 years already laugh.gif

although if i connect my HT to my PSP,handphone and mp3 player there is a slight irritating hum but turning down the volume on the "psp, handphone and mp3" and raising the volume on the amp seems to make the "humming sound" go away hmm.gif

"susceptible" means it can happen to some people, even if it doesn't happen to you. But even you experience the hum with other devices, and "turning it down" is not really eliminating the problem.

I think I want that Joe Sixpack's Sooloos. I already have a USB sound card (Creative Digital Music SX)

my WDTV can play music from the external HDD, but the music interface is very basic

you guys should understand the Sooloos is for people who already have a high-end system (source, speakers and amplifier) and a 15K component is an enhancement, not a necessity. So of course given US15K even I would spend it on other things rather than the Sooloos...

On the other hand, the Squeezebox Touch wouldn't be out of place and a logical enhancement given the level of my current system.
