that is actually a fallacy.......much of the 260k does not go to the car, it goes to taxes and duties.......the REAL value of the car may be about rm120k, just slightly more than the real value of the 2.0 forte of about 80k.........

bmw has really been usccessful in their marketing, haven't they.........

mechanically, the high end japs, and other contis like audi are just as good.......but people will always see bmw with a different eye.....boosted by insane prices from the taxes.........

all auto trannys allow you to shift from d and r into n without restriction.........most will also allow you to freely shift from n to d without having to press the shift lock....from my test drive, i know forte does the same.........but most new cars now require you to press on the brake paddle before it unlock from the p position.......

why would anyone want to do so?.........well, it's to coast the car, a common practice with the manual tranny.......say you are coming to a stop, and it's red light, just engage n and let the car's kinetic energy bring your car to the queue............i do that lots of time.........

the worst would be to race at the red light and brake hard at the end..........

i believe the remote used the standard flat lithium batteries, which CANNOT be charged......

however, should the battery run down, the rfid can still be activated by induction current from the sensor adjacent to the slot.........it works like how your touch and go card is read by close proximity.........same as the spore mrt system........

why don't you all try........remove the battery from the remote, and slot it in hole and see if your car starts.............

of course.....i understand the engine is rated ron91.........ie can use petrol grade as low as ron91.........

as for any korean car, expect depreciation to be significantly more than the popular japs like t and h..........selling after 5 years will mean a significant drop......possibly up to 2/3 of cost price (you cannot factor in the borrowing cost)..........i had a sportage bought in 2000, and when sold 6 years later, only got 33% of the cosy price........

for certain models of kia cars, it is even worse......eg, a carnival bought at the full price of 170k immediately lost 40% of it's value when it became nazarised and sold for 100k..........came happened for the spectra.........and currently, the citra/carens.........

so you should expect the double whammy of korean depreciation, and the naza tendency to devalue their cars by not holding their selling price..........

if the 'upgrade' of the ex is true, for the same price, it shows naza has NOT learn, they are still undercutting their own clients by devaluing their cars that are not selling well..........yes, the ex is not selling well.........
