Sylphy using CVT gearbox ma sure smooth and fuel economy la, same as Lancer GT too.
*
Sylphy operates at about 90% of its maximum torque at 2k rpm and the CVT will couple to that torque range for most of the "gear ratio" (I knew, it does not really have a gear) for optimum power / fuel consumption. NVH is pretty good.. but due to the torque curve, it does not have very good max speed as the torque are most useful as mid range torque. If you tends to drive at highspeed often, the car may not be suitable. FC wise, it is very very good

Nissan should be one of the best manufacturer in CVT gearbox, because in actual no any manufacturer apply CVT in more than 2.0L Vehicle. Nissan used their CVT in Murano which is 3.5L
*
one more post before ppl kick me due to OT... it is the same CVT in Sylphy that used on Murano in this case.

I booked the 2.0 unit early feb.. just called the careline and they mentioned 3-6 months to wait?!! spoke to my SA and he has no comment or indication. Just 2 days ago he mentioned about being able to get it by mid march. Seems to be we are all just in wonderland waiting for something NZ cant deliver.  mad.gif
*
Be patience, those that booked in November last year hasn't got their car yet. I just called my previous SA, he is no more daring to commit anything on 2.0L, he told me if really need him to give a time frame, the 2.0L will be in June ( I guess that is a very safe commitment from him )

As for the 1.6L, he said the time from order to delivery also not certain and best he can quote me is 6 weeks of waiting time. ( That also will bring to mid April if counting from now )

This has became very quiet around.. after the 2nd batch gotten their 1.6L and the 2.0L buyers are already finally accepted the truth that 2.0L going to be remains unknown.

izputra,

You sure you want to consider Nissan's rides ah.. you will be not much different driving a Taxi as the market is started to flooded with Sylphy Taxi. sweat.gif sweat.gif ( thinking from the positive side.. there are plenty of spare parts supply if the Taxi companies are using them )

Yupp..Sylphy currently is in my list right now. Going to be taxi mehh..aiyaa  doh.gif  but also seriously considering the upcoming new Hyundai Sonata..expected to launch in April. the price for both cars not differ much considering that Sonata is a D segment car. Anyway..i will give Forte another wait till middle of March before i jump into any decision  unsure.gif

I already saw couple of Blue Color Sylphy Taxi.. in Seremban and in Penang. hmm.gif I believe belongs to the same company... It was like a relief when I saw those.. as I initially booked a White Sylphy back in Oct 2009 which I canceled the booking after 2 weeks..

Just could not convince myself of the rear look of this car sweat.gif sweat.gif and also reading the news with the Sylphy loose control on the Nissan's treasure hunt. I believe it was due to the hydroplaning.

even though its a taxi but not common taxi.. its Taxi Executive..
once u seat in the car, the meter shown rm6 already. and the meter runs pretty fast. hahahahaha

Reminds me of the joke i heard years ago.. could not really remember the jokes but something like this

A Proton Taxi driver fetching a Japanese tourist

The tourist could not stand the slowness of the moving vehicle and when he saw another Honda over take the taxi.
He said, Honda - Made in Japan, very Fast
another few more Japanese car drove by and the Tourist just repeating himself with the Made in Japan craps.

At the end of the rides.. the Taxi driver told the tourist the total charges shown on the meter
The Tourist was in shock and questioned the Taxi driver on the charges.

The Taxi drivers then told the Tourist
Meter - Made in Japan, Very Fast biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Now that i think of it.. Proton also Made in Japan mah... ( Ok, no CBU.. all CKD )

Now how can I get that sticker sweat.gif And actually how do I join myforteclub.com? Is the site ready or not, all I got was a picture of the Forte and that's it.
21. I already got mine in Jan but then again I'm not in M'sia.

Back in Dec 2009 when I checked with my SA, their Dealer branch alone already have 12 including myself that time.. so, I think whole Malaysia including all the dealers probably have a lot of 2.0 bookings. The one thing not so sure is... How many still there. Mostly have already downgraded or canceled their booking.

Only partial that shown great loyalty to the 2.0SX.. Really have to salute them notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

If Proton give similar features, build quality and tempting outlook. i will go for it....
Just because it worth for the $$~

There are good and bad SC, just read more LYN and you know where to go...

I loooooonging for K7 to enter Malaysia, sure will make a lot of people crazy..
*
Proton is pushing very hard for their "Lotus Tune and Handling"... and the featured features are stimulating same reaction which the ESC and CBC which Forte is having. ( Mazda's Regional manager also replied my email talking about same thing when I emailed him asking why Mazda 3 does not come with DSC in Malaysia ...that their car's tuning is so good that you don't need DSC / ESC.... sweat.gif )

STORY OF MY LIFE-
This evening was really a shocking and also a very grateful evening for me and my family (wife n son). i was driving my FORTE from the Jerantut town to my home. speed was about 100km/h..the road was quite dark. and then suddenly a babi hutan came out from the bush of the right shoulder of the road. it was like a few meters from my car. and at the same time there was a motorcycle at the left of the road...i pressed brake and  did a sharp steer to the left to avoid the babi hutan and after that steer back to the right to avoid clashing with the motorcylist..very sharp maneuver...surprisingly..the car is still under my control and easily back in track. it didnt drift a bit..this thing happened in very short time, less than 1 second. thank god. my family was saved, the motorcyclist and my FORTE too...the ESP really worked like magic. if this would happened while im driving other car without ESP-like features, only god knows what would happened.

the same thing has happened to me 2 years ago at the same road..but at that time i was driving an iswara with about 80km/h..tried to avoid a cat crosssing..the iswara spun on the road 3 times and end up at the other side of the road shoulder.nearly crashed at the bus stop.

in future if i ever want to buy a new car, the safety features like ESP will be my highest priority (and of course affordable la)..

This ESP feature offered by FORTE really can help avoid accidents and saved life. forget the so called bad resell value of korean car and better buy a T&H car..this FORTE is REALLY WORTH IT. NO REGRET. (but only we have to bear the NAZA bad service..really hope they can improve their service)
*
It is really a moment to be grateful of.... that is what always in my mind.. Don't buy a car without ESC. he he.. that is what written in my Signatures tongue.gif

mix city and highway.

someone care to convert... ? 1L = ?
*
RM85 / RM1.80 = 47.22L

450KM/47.22L = 9.53KM/L
or
47.22L/450KM x 100 = 10.49L/100KM

Tested drive the 2.0 today!
Very very light steering, high responsive engine (can hear the beast sound)!

Only stupid thing it's, the 2.0 DOES NOT have the "2.0" logo at the back. If you just glance thru, u will thought that it is a 1.6SX.

Sales person said no need to do tint on windscreen, is that true??
*
Wah.. already test the 2.0L. Wonder when will be my chance... you can buy any car's 2.0 to sticks there. The Civic's red 2.0 looks sweet. But then, the 1.6 can also sticks that in sweat.gif

I got mine for around RM620 all in (+shipping +taxes +installation) ... i will shoot some photos and share with the rest the look and also the performance. Frankly, the sharkfin does not perform as good as the stock antenna, i will test for a few more days and share with you guys my experience.

4te,

I am speeachless on your passion towards the Forte.. RM620 is rather too expensive for a set of Antenna.

The Mileage is one thing.. the more concerns are.. if it is really a test driven car.. that meant a lot already slam the gas pedal to try the pick up, try the power.. taking hard corners.. hard braking.. this and that.. you won't know how each testers will do to the car.

On the other hand, low mileage does not meant your car has not been driven. When I test drove the 1.6SX last year, the speedo meter was not connected.. the SA BSed me that Showroom unit has that disconnected but all of us know, that is to cheat the buyers that those cars are new when they deliver to the final owner. These things happen in Dealer more as Dealers have to fork out their own money for all the cars and they will not have dedicated test drive unit.. hence test drive car = other owner's new car to be.

Normal heat rejection tint or Security Film ? Normally security Film is the one that need to open panel to have the glass fully covered.
