My parcel has finally arrived 2day... Pos Malaysia called me up and asked me to declare my parcel at the kastam... am wondering how much will i be taxed for clothings imported from China??

Seller told me that i wont be taxed for marine shipping as they covered all taxes imposed on marine shipping. And as i know, seller also did not include any receipts in the parcel. However, those are all new clothings which cost abour RM1.5k. These are all for personal use only, as my colleagues and friends combined shipping to save on postage...

Can i be exempted from being tax? Or can i declare a fake amount so i wont be taxed that much??? Are they gonna believe it since everything is from China??? Otherwise, everything's gonna be more expensive than wat we bought... which is not gonna be value for money anymore..

thanks!

No i dont think you could exempted from being taxed, you cant declare fake amount, you have to show them to proof that the goods are genuine and its for your personal use. Dont say its for your business..you might have to pay "gift" the officers..

Happy that your items have arrived. All the thumbup.gif

Most likely you will not be giving the "gift" if you mention that its for your personal wear.

By sea, to be exempted from tax, total price include shipping must be below RM250.
By air, to be exempted from tax, total price include shipping must be below RM500.

That's all I can say.

Added on February 9, 2010, 11:50 amWEee... parcel collected... tax exempted coz they trust us for personal use... which is true coz none of the clothing is repeated!! but they warned us not to ship in such a big quantity nx time coz very hard for them to let us go the second time for watever reason.
