Sure Bethesda has their weaknesses, but they are very capable people who know what they're doing. Even today, how many open world RPGs are there that is as expansive and detailed as Morrowind or Oblivion? The only thing that came close was the old Might & Magic series. And even then the developers were idiots to abandon that line and concentrated more on that stupid Heroes of Might & Magic line instead.
I really wished they made Bethesda as developer for the Vegas game. No doubt Oblivion will take Bethesda's hard work and fan-service the game and then take all the credit, like they did with Bioware games. They can't even stand on their own two feet by coming up with original ideas of their own.

bethesda has improved a lot and oblivion + fallout 3 were their trophies
however, storyline wise, bioware's the best
i dunno about obsidian except for nwn 2 and kotor2
but those games were great (although i hated nwn2 and being an avid follower of nwn1, i never really finished nwn2)
since i loved star wars so much, i played kotor and kotor2 more than 3-4 times
hahahaha and they were fine games (kotor2 is the better game compared to kotor1 just because of new functions but the storyline cant beat kotor1)
they should have employed bioware or bethesda for new vegas because the game's graphics could just be spoiled by a lame plot
fallout 3 aint that bad though
plot's just nice but the add-ons were really nice
and i loved the massive customized guns like the nuclear rocket, my all time favourite yk-42b, nuclear ak-47 and laser rifle
