Yes, I know. Not every big name in the industry make it. Even Leonard Boyarsky failed before at Troika but I thought Obsidian has a decent track record.

Edit: I want to add that I enjoyed playing Troika games rclxms.gif

He did not fail. This is blasphemy. This is madness...

Troika made Arcanum and Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines, both of which are spectacular even until today.

OK, calm down. I already admitted to liking their games, just that the comapny didn't last very long. ToEE was good too, actually. I still have a copy of that game and I'm thinking of installing that.
*
TOEE pales in comparison to Arcanum and VTMB. I also have a copy of the game locked away somewhere...

I'm disappointed that Mark Morgan is not composing the music for New Vegas. That said, no doubt the quality of dialogues in New Vegas will be significantly better than FO3 since Obsidian has better writers. Obsidian also hired a modder who is familiar with the Gamebryo engine to iron out any quirks (as you all know, the Gamebryo engine is as problematic as a Proton Waja).

Don't poo poo Fallout 3.

It's good for releasing stress until the point when it decides to crash. By then, it'll create unnecessary stress for me.

Delete it and all your unnecessary stress is gone biggrin.gif

2 things I liked about Fallout Tactics - Real Time Combat which is fun and chaotic when there are dozens of people around as well as the ability to recruit Pipboy.

the looks are the same Edi, just a lot of bugfixing and tweaked/added mechanics to the game along with supposedly awesome story.

the "awesome story" part is all that we wanted AGAIN... bring the FALLOUT 2 sex, thieves and violent back to us.
*
Storyline is Obsidian's forte.

They even hired a modder who is familiar with the Gamebryo engine to help iron out the quirks of the previous game.

dat plasma pistol

EDIT: mrhulk, this is Obsidian we're talking about. Storyline is about the ONLY thing they can get consistently right it seems.
*
And that makes Obsidian very special indeed. Just like Troika.

The one of the guns in one of the trailer sounds really meaty.

Can't wait to give that a try.
*
I think u can easily find a decent sound mod for guns in FO3. Those modders churn out mods almost everyday LOL.

Uh, but the plot does suck. Its kinda lame and has probably the most ridiculous plot hole in a video game (Right at the very end)

*
To Bethesda, Fallout is all about super mutants and enclave and bloody mess. Plagiarizing from the first 2 games. The game had so much potential but they blew it.

Its unbelievable Bethesda won an award for Best Writing. That's beyond ludicrous. The people who gave the award must have been high on drugs (Todd gave them a few doses of Psycho).

QUOTE(cracksys @ Jun 19 2010, 06:55 AM)
you can't go all lame with FO3's optimus prime end-boss plot.
*
Seriously, an anti-communist giant robot. Lameeeeeeeeeeeee. The US Military must have been desperate and dumb. No wonder the Chinese nuked them to hell.

Must be a super slow year for RPGs.
*
Yeah. Sad.

That award should have gone to Grand Theft Auto 4.

Nico Bellic was robbed. Time to go on a shooting spree...

Roman was a well written character too.

Anyway, would be nice to see how Fallout New Vegas pans out since it's being developed by Obsidian.

The gaming press and FO3 fans are skeptical about NV since its E3 trailer showcased more game play elements than explosions and gore. BAH!

Is that how gamers judge a game nowadays? If it doesn't have snazzy visuals and exploding bodies, its not cool.

People are also somewhat ambivalent due to the mediocre scores garnered by Obsidian's Alpha Protocol.

I usually use the minigun or gatling laser.

Fast and efficient just eats ammo like no tomorrow.
*
I prefer using the Plasma Caster aka Uber cool big ass Classic Plasma Rifle.

Fun to use but degrades damn fast.
