GT5 received brief mention at Sony’s large press event at the Game Developers Conference 2010 today. While the focus of the show turned out to be Sony’s new motion controller, it was “confirmed” the company’s biggest racer will be released in 2010. Of course, for anyone who’s been paying attention, this isn’t exactly a surprise, but it should calm any lingering fears that remained after the game’s Japanese March date was postponed.

Sony also said to watch for their 3D technology to be pushed later this year – new functionality that I suspect will be closely tied and promoted with GT5…

Guys, G25 can be used for the coming GT5? G27 so damn expensive.....

According to an Italian gaming site, a Sony representative at last week’s Game Developers Conference informed them the company was looking to release Gran Turismo 5 in October of this year. While GT5 received little attention at the show, Sony’s marketing vice president, Peter Dille, re-affirmed the game would release this year. Of course, October also fits nicely within the “fall” release window mentioned by European Sony executive James Armstrong last month.

This gives Sony plenty of time to establish themselves in the 3D television market over the summer, providing the platform to introduce GT5 as the technology’s “killer app” at the start of the popular holiday buying season. While we must be wary of this somewhat anonymous source of information, it lines up with everything else we’ve been hearing as of late. Time will, as always, tell.

That was what i was saying earlier.... Sony delay the game for their bloody 3D at the CES early this year....
What make me more worry is the Move Controller.... they seem to be thinking of implementing it into GT5 too... then worse come to worse they delay it again.
