QUOTE(gregy @ Apr 18 2010, 10:11 AM) What a shame. You could have saved your dad a bundle I know. I never had an online purchase gone wrong. But u know the older generation is a bit wary of these stuff...1) Did the forummer just register? 2) What's his/her trading history? 3) Any feedback from other forummers? 4) Is he willing to answer all your questions? 5) Will he produce the original receipt? On another note, am trying to get used to the Ctrl + Fn after years working on a Thinkpad. Also, is there a keyboard shortcut to switching off the screen only? |

Thanks outlife
I repartitioned my HD, didn't tinker with the recovery partition, allocating 50GB for the OS (C:\), and the rest for data (E:\). But every time i wanna install a program the default one comes up as C:\ and i have to manually change it to E:\Program Files\... Is there a way to change this? |

Hey guys...
Studio XPS 1647: PM55, HM55 and Switchable Graphics I just checked mine... Indeed, device manager shows i have a PM55 whereas Dell's website clearly shows that i5 comes with HM55 chipset here. Would've been good if i can switch off the HD4670 when in college and not gaming Added on April 26, 2010, 2:08 pm QUOTE(outlife11 @ Apr 26 2010, 11:53 AM) guy how much that thermal paste ? i'm interested as well http://www.zalman.co.kr/ENG/product/Catego...categorySecond= which i better ? Ditto bout the sweaty palms. But gaming is fine on my baby, i have a USB fan blowing from the left side (where our fingers would be on the WASD), so it's pretty cooling
Just that i keep getting fingerprints on my plamrest + cover, like, 5 seconds after i just cleaned them *sigh* |

Hmmm... I wouldn't even notice it if u haven't mention it. Just checked mine and seems like my G K V N is slighty lower. It's not that obvious and it doesn't affect my typing, so i'm good |

Have been trying real hard to find Catalyst Mobility Driver 10.4 mirror download link other than the one on AMD's site. Couldn't complete my download through that one, it goes reaaaal slow and eventually stops downloading altogether
Added on May 3, 2010, 1:42 amI just had a reallly bad scare. Tried to update my bios to A06, left it to run and when i came back, the screen was blank and everything was non-responsive. Cannot even shut down by pressing the power button for 8-10 secs. All i can see is the touch sensitive strip still lighted and the fan running. Finally decided to take a huge risk and pulled out the AC adapter, AND removed the battery without powering down my baby Since switching it back on, everything seems fine so far *phew* This post has been edited by cain: May 3 2010, 01:42 AM |

Well, my reason for updating the bios is, erm, hehe, cuz i never done it before. Yeah i know curiosity kills the cat, but good thing i'm not a cat, at least, my baby isn't dead yet
