Hi all, I'm using XPS16 Core i5-520 with 4GB ram and bluray drive. But whenever I watch bluray disc, it will lag, may I know is this normal for XPS16?

I thought the power throttling issue was never an issue?

I just found out how to make the backlit keyboard stays on or specify how long it will be kept on.

use this program: C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\BacklitKB.exe

Anybody here can help me with my problem? I need a recovery disk for my Studio XPS 16". I tried to partition my first HDD and it got stuck halfway. Now all partitions including the recovery partition is lost. Anybody with almost the same configuration as mine can create a recovery disk for me and send it to me. I'll pay for the postage and media costs.

My configuration is as follows.

OS : Windows 7 64 bit
Proc : Core i7 720QM
GPU : ATI HD 4670 1 GB
Bluetooth : Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth
WIFI : Intel Wifi Link 5300

I think anybody with the same/almost the same configuration can help me on this

Thank you bro for your link. But the one i'm looking for is specifically for the Dell Studio XPS 1645 system. After you restore it, all OS and device drivers are already in place including optional softwares such as Dell Datasafe Local (i can't seem to find the installer for this) and Dell Docks (this one i already have the installer). Currently I'm running the system on the windows 7 64 bit that I installed with the provided Windows 7 64 bit installation DVD. Just wish that the Dell Datasafe Local is available so that i can restore the system back to the original factory configuration if needed.

I know. I never had an online purchase gone wrong. But u know the older generation is a bit wary of these stuff...

On another note, am trying to get used to the Ctrl + Fn after years working on a Thinkpad. Also, is there a keyboard shortcut to switching off the screen only?

Help, i found that my xps16 get very hot after gaming for 20 ~ 30min and start to lag ... anyone here experience the same issue ?

hmmm did u find amourone before? In Garage Sales sub Mobile phone & notebook forum, there is a seller call Amourone and selling all transparent skin, LCD protector, wrist protector, keyboard protector all that. but i duno whether they got this Studio XPS 16 model protector or not. u can ask him.
