You have to go though several test in order to be posted in US.
As you know their system are slightly different from us.

And ya, IMU degree is worldwide recognize.
Not that certain universities are yet to register with MQA or edu board.

If you wants to save money, do locally.
You can choose to do your postgraduate overseas, which will be better than doing it in Malaysia. A lot of my seniors choosing this path. Graduate from IMU, then went to UK for specialization.

Note that I'm not medic student nor sciences.
But I still know all these stuff. I once applied, but changed my mind

If you really can't make decision, just call them out and postponed the dateline. They wouldn't mind

This is exactly the reason why some of the information on forum are so wrong. Heck, many countries don't even recognize University of Malaya's medical degree so where got chance for IMU?

That is what IMU's counselor told me when i apply.
Their information is always wrong.

I've heard lots of parents complaint about their information upon application
There's always right and wrong.
Why don't you create a thread to provide 100% ACCURATE information for EVERYTHING
and there won't be anything to be wrong and bullshits?

While we all make mistake, at least try to present it in a way that is less authoritative. The way you put it makes it look like 100% fact when it is instead wrong and ended up misleading the TS.

To Kellyyhx,

Sorry if i sounded too harsh, but if you are not certain about the status of accreditation for IMU MBBS please do not mislead our TS.

I was once told the same, graduate locally and do specialisation overseas, apparently it was a lie, very bad lie that almost jeopardize my future.

What limeuu said is true, perhaps only 1-10% of IMU MBBS will finally end up overseas, i dont have any figure actually, just a wild guess, but looking at UK's EU law and Aussie's difficulty in taking in their own intern, chances are getting slimmer and slimmer.

AFAIK, anyone regardless of what degree you have including IMU's, you can go sit for the US USLME medical examination. If you pass, you can apply to work in US and I presume, specialization as well.

I know the admission for MBBS @ IMU is pretty difficult considering that competition is always high for medical courses. if i were to score 1A, 2B's for my A-Levels are there any chances for me to get admitted into the MBBS programme at IMU? A for Math and B's for Bio and Chem.

Chemistry is the most important subject. If you are not very good at it, you may not be so suitable for medicine because there are more qualified people than yourself. But I am sure if you have the money, some university somewhere will take you on.

this intake will be the last batch on the old differential fees system..........from august, the fees for both phases will be the same.......the total fees for the local stream is still the same, phase 1 fees goes up rm5k/sem and phase 2 comes down rm5k/sem.........

but it means pms stream students will now need to pay rm25k more for the phase 1.........

subtle way for imu to increase their fees........the majority of students are in pms stream.......

That makes PMS even poorer value for money compared to before.

By opting for cheaper university and lower living cost cities like Leeds in UK, I reckon doing the entire course oversea will be almost the same as IMU-PMC. Mainly because you do 2.5 yrs pre-clinical in IMU instead of only 2 yrs overseas.
