Just started reno last week , was informed that my contractor HACKED 2 shear/main wall that should be hacked!!
Need to stop renovation work and ask the reno guy to seal back the wall and then only can continue reno .
Was shocked and try to regain composure, asked them back the details of the illegal hacking.
They didnt manage to give the exact answer, which wall and what problem ...WTF..so I called back my reno guy and ask for info.
Found out from reno guy the following :
-the hacking was for plug/switch repositioning
-its just a small hacking which dont fall into hacking category, so wont kacau the shear wall
-prior to this already asked the management office(unfortunately no written) on how to do , and they advice ONLY can do for plug reposition and nothing else
-he will snap a pic and shw to me the work
Waited few minutes...and he send me the pic ..

After seeing the pic ...regroup back my composure and call the management office ...
Told them what I can see from my view :
- the reno work is according to details that the reno guy told me earlier , and I have asked the management just that ..they said OK ..
- the pic showed that there shouldnt be any problem/no overrated reno done .....according to management advice
-ask help from management if they are not happy , then go and talk to my reno guy and advice him on how to do it porperly ..
- the office lady said "this wall cant hack ...if you want add plug point, only allow ONE and for that you have to do casing"....Oh my goD !!
however, still remain calm and ask her to send the technician guy and consult with my renovator
-I said new house should be able to do minor hacking ....this is nothing new ..what are they trying to say ..i am no school kid , and I am damn sure the reno guy doesnt just start the business yesterday
Called back me reno guy after that and told back the above story ...he said ok , he will wait for the management office ppl to come and advice ..
He also told me the following :
-the earlier management guy actually came to ask for $$$ .Even ask him ..how you want to settle this matter ???
-Its normal for management to do that especially as I didnt choose their designated renovator (have a show unit in the compound)...which quote me RM10k more
-ask me to claim my rights and always ensure my rights is protected ..always argue with them if i did nothing wrong ...he can only sggest what to argue ..but can campur coz he's not owner ...
This is not my 1st house , but the my 1st management much professional and didnt do something silly like this ..
Just wanna ask fellow forumers :
-what should i do to prevent the above happening again
-what should i expect in coming weeks and what to prepare
-what should i do to keep my interest taken care and get what i want in renovating
-how should I handle my condo management ....seriously I believe in me reno guy more than them ...
-whats the worst that I should expect ....(the deposit is RM3 for reno , they ask me to pass chq , and you know what ..THEY ACTUALLY BANK IN THE DEPOSIT CHQ $$$) ..my previous condo return back my ori chq after reno ...this one ...argh!!!
