Kuala Lumpur- A film stuntman is believed to have drowned at the Mines Lake near a hotel at Seri Kembangan, near here while shooting a scene.

In the incident at 4.30 pm, Kong Chai Ming, 39, is said to have fallen into the water during a shooting scene in the middle of the lake.

A friend of the victim, who declined to be named, said Kong, from Seri Kembangan, here was doing a scene where he was 'shot' and had to fall into the lake.

"In the scene, he was shot in the chest and fell into the lake, but till now, he had not resurfaced," he said when met at the scene.

After several minutes of searching without finding the victim, the film production company had to contact the hotel's security unit before informing the Fire and Rescue Department.

A check by Bernama at the scene revealed that Kong had still not been found as at 10.30 pm and the rescue operation was still continuing.

Meanwhile, Operations Officer of the Seri Kembangan Fire and Rescue Station Isa Muharam said his men received a report on the incident at about 6 pm.
