it's a matter of mobo choice by the OEM...

HM55, HM57, QM55 and QS55 have the bus that connects to the GPU and the display output, while PM55 has none of those...

M=mobile, perhaps...
L= low voltage
U= ultra-low-voltage..

Added on February 4, 2010, 6:56 pmbasically, PM55 is HM57 without graphic support, while HM55 has some features of HM57 stripped off, like Matrix Storage, less USB ports, less SATA ports...

QM57 is HM57 but with some features targeted at business...
