clarify a bit...

9600M GT's desktop equivalent is 9500GT/8600GT... 32SP, 128-bit

desktop 9600GT is 64SP, 256-bit (yeah, 256-bit for a mid-end card, same as the performance 9800s... NV was indeed desperate to do sth abt HD3800 at that time... sweat.gif)

my HD4650 (lower core/DDR clock than S57 already) can score 6.4k on 3D Mark 06 comfortably @ 1280x768... 9600M GT iirc is max 5.9k (as tested by owners in this thread)

but heck, S42 is so darn cheap...

N81Vp latest using T9600 whole X83Vp uses P8700... laugh.gif

mine is the earliest batch, using T9550.. .laugh.gif

anyway, i would say, better go for others like 4820TG, Y460 and N82Jv... performance is still decent for N81Vp, but the new models are better at lower price as well... at the very least, u dun need to import...

hmm... but my N81Vp with 11 sth V, 4800mAh battery (which i suspect to be a 6-cell anyway) can last approx. 3.5hr with the help of Power4Gear Hybrid...

besides the CPU, both are pretty simialr in terms of spec.. .hmm.gif

well, in Battery Saving mode of P4GH, it locks max CPU state to 60% (i ve reduced it to 50% though), switch the background to Vista Basic (less work for GPU), disabled Sidebar, and change the wallpaper to a really simple one...

then of course there's the usual stuff of dimming the monitor, etc...
