I see one common factor in all your incidents. Just like me, extremely tired was the most common. Other cases were being in a situation of intense fear or pressure. It is under such circumstances that these strange things happen. I will not tell my stories as similar stories were already told here. Somehow playing with water in the bathroom and force sex seemed to be the favorites.

If you believe in spirits then let it be spirits that is causing it. If you think there is a logical explanation then its logic. We can use logic for Nahte’s case. The mind was tired and need rest. It paints an illusion of save environment to the retina but the eye fails to be deceived by it. At the most crucial moment it snaps back to reality. Likewise, you may just call it divine protection.

For those who believe it is spiritual my advise is do some research on sleep and make sure you get enough sleep. You are vulnerable to spiritual attack (see wan dai – in Cantonese) when you don’t have enough sleep. Lack of sleep is also a form of intense pressure. Nahte, please get enough rest when driving.

Djcarmen, you were very in favor of spiritual until the thought of being raped by a ghost ridicules you. Let me offer a logical side. Perhaps of late you had to walk through dark and lonely places. As a female, you are always on your guard when going through these places. Your brain was tremendously under pressure. It creates a warning of future consequences. Just like the brain can paint a false illusion in the retina, it knows how to create the sensation of penetration. It is common to awake in cold sweat and it will take some time to subside when you awake from nightmares.

For those who are scared of ghost, learn to relax. You don’t need to pressure yourself too much.

TS has had a sleepwalking experience. One of the causes for that is lack of sleep as you said. Learn to get enough sleep. Don't skimp on it. There is also a discussion that some people may be more prone to such experience. In simple English, all of us have this switch in the brain that turns off when we sleep. We can dream but we don't live out our dream physically. Our body is paralysed. It is argued that some people don't get this switch turned off when they sleep.

They could truly be neurologically somehow defective.

TS means Topic starter.

I think sleep walking is the brain cannot differentiated dream and reality but did they close their eyes or open?

I don't think it is about the brain differentiating between dream and reality. As I said the brain paralyses our body when we sleep so we don't live out our dream(its more like the lower region of our brain becomes inactive - the part that coordinates our movement). We don't consciously recognise whether it is just a dream. When we have a nightmare, it may feel very real but only when we wake up, we realise it is only a dream.

The brain has to do this as a 'self defense' mechanism or else we might hurt ourselves.
