Hmm very itneresting event and im very happy that they chose malaysia as one of their destinations. God only knows how many of these events we have on a decade by decade basis =.= Just wondering how much the tickets will be and when the date is. Hopefully i can catch it  |

i remember last time when i want watch FF distant world sold out for every night when i want to buy then when i want buy lord of the rings in MPO also finish fast. only left most expensive seat. |

I usually stay in bukit bintang's Federal/Alpha Genesis hotel, but to take LRT go KLCC verii difficult~ guys can recommend me cheap and nice hotel near KLCC? |

Guys, I don't think this ochestra will happen here in Malaysia. If you look at previous years, the actual performed show was much lesser than what is reflected schedule for 2010.
I reckon VideoGameLive here in Malaysia is pretty much a suggested event shown in the site but it won't be materialised. |

Although the date is stated but they can cancel it anytime. Just look at all those events in queue around the world & VGL accomplished events for the past 3 years.
At best VGL can only cover 1/3 of what was listed on the website for 2010. So there's a high chance that VGL won't be coming to KLCC. Don't get me wrong, I do hope they are coming as I love video game soundtracks. It's just that based on my analysis, most likely they won't make it here. Just a heads-up to those interested to get tickets, purchase link option is open for the show for both the 2:30pm and 8:30pm show on the 17th. I've already purchased mine via TicketPro website www.ticketpro.com.my for RM253, and opted for the ticket to be couriered to my home. You can also choose to pick it up at the ticket booth there, or purchase it through TicketPro's designated ticket outlets at this link:-

Its not MPO for sure. Its at KL Convention Center. Check their website.

I think the hotels are Mandrin Oriental, and Traders. They're quite close to the place, should be considered closer than if you park in the Suria KLCC car park.

If I may add my own opinion, personally the reason there are more people going for the 8:30pm instead of the 2:30pm is because around 2:30pm, that is both lunch time and for the Malays, they had just finished their afternoon prayers.
Added to that, on that day AND around the same area, is the PC Fair and WCG. There are more stuff for people to do in the daytime, compared to the free time to watch VGL at night. Perhaps if they were to come next time, the organizers should take a look at these issues as well. |

why dont just buy the tix online and print out the tix , and bring that printout , it has a barcode to be scan on the tix. i did this method. hope it works. if not i will break something. ( i like that comment from one of the post above) hehehe

As for dresscode, other than cosplayers, smart casual is the safest attire... I browsed through some of the posts, and someone is asking whether there is VGL CD available out there. Under conditions of sales and entry item #4: 4. No photography, audio or video recording is allowed during the event. However, it is allowed in some other countries. In VGL official website, under FAQ: Are cameras allowed at the shows? Video Games Live has absolutely no problem with people taking personal photos or video of the event. Certain venues and symphonies prohibit such practices so you may want to check with the venue before attending. If you do take pictures please send them to us so we can add to our online collection! well when i bought the ticket online there was only 1 option = E-ticket
then i paid, the "smile emoticon" came out and said successful payment confirmed then i got 1 email instantly saying order confirmation and no tickets printing link. just wondering what next? O.o btw BelowAverage... which session you attending? Ya, around 15 mins walk from pavilion through jalan kia peng to convention center.
I can see that there is alot of open air car park around convention center. Is the parking rate same with KLCC ? |

Agreed. Double encore as well, with fitting soundtrack ending of Chrono Cross/Trigger(first encore) and Castlevania(second encore). Congrats to one of our moderator as well for winning the Guitar Hero contest, and what's even more important, ROCKING THE HELL OUT with Tommy Tallarico onstage.
My personal favourite was Shadow of The Colossus, I'm just a fanboy of that game. My hope is that VGL sees how the video game scene here flourishing and how supported it is. Please come back next year! |

i loved the show and managed to record the whole damn thing, from the dude running around the stage to fight the space invaders to Blacktrix playing his heart out to the supreme 4 man+orchestra+choir at the end...great show my lungs are withered and i stayed in line for 1 hour to get their autographs but damn was it worth it.

Even with my 120GB videocam I didn't record the whole thing. I didn't feel like holding up my camera the whole time and my tripod sucks.
Also there were some songs I didn't get because I grew up playing the wrong games. I.E. Parappa the Rapper instead of FFVII. |

One Winged Angel and Kingdom Hearts was cool but the feeling was a lil stripped down because they weren't allowed to use any images from Square Enix because it is copyrighted and Square has their own orchestra. That explains the crappy images for both pieces.

It's most evident during the God Of War bit when the video HUNG for awhile and you could hear the orchestra isn't contributing a lot. Also, I really really hated the fact that they faked the Skype bit, COME ON LAR, this is 2010, you think people won't notice? Just say it's a recorded quote or something lar! afternoon show was epic!
evnthou the hall was half empty, we even stood up to clap hand, shout encore, took up laptop when after tommy said bout laptops. The funniest was , tommy said " some people say Video game was the cause of violence", and somebody in the audience at the front seat shouted :" KILL THOSE PEOPLE!" And there was a girl who keep shouting chrono cross from begining till the end hhaha |

It was really good and a great experience. Well it's consider good since they manage to fill it up most of it.
Went for the 8.30 show. They did played the kingdom heart song but I think square enix could have didn't gave the right to show gameplay footage i guess. Even when One Wing Angel was played, they show cosplay instead of FF7 game. The only silence part was when Halo theme was played. I only pity those orchestra players. Yeah, I too am worried about any chance of a 2nd VGL in Malaysia. The sales don't seem too good to me on the top floor. But then again, there really wasn't much promotion done for the event, in fact I'd say everyone who went there probably only knew through word of mouth.
My friends who had no idea about the event until I told them splurge on the CENTER FRONT ROW... son of a b****! But really, this whole VGL was definetly an example of how much passion we have towards our games. |

good show... i really enjoy it ... was a really good nite , show and fun!!!!
well didn't manage to see any LYN member not enuf time to intro and shout LYN gathering here... the place was really crowded... really like the show the mix MJ with mario!!! very funny!! |

really like Tonny's guitar solo.... in Halo, Castlevania, mega man and lot more... he really ROCK...

the view from PS5 was not as bad as i thought it would be. the only problem was the GLARING lights they shot up (only affecting the middle i think)

Good show overall (Went for the 2.30pm show). I think the solo performances (Zelda flute solo & Snake Eater saxephone) and the Finale (Chrono series group performance) IMO stands out more as the highlight of the show than compare to those played by the whole orchestra. The only sad part (as most of you should know by now) are the video footages for Kingdom Hearts & One Winged Angel and not enough current tunes (most are very oldschool). It's really quite bad timing to be held in conjunction with PC Fair (or was it done on purpose ?
).My friend said the overall sound system is much better than the Distance World concert held at Singapore a few months ago (Anyone here can confirm this ?). The hall was 3/4 full at that time but most of us were very enthusiastic so the show was very lively overall. Same as everyone here I do wish they will come again and maybe play some newer materials. By the way... I was surprise that they left out Street Fighter which is quite a well known game all over the world...hmm .P.S. Saw some cosplay as well. The very "slender" Cloud Strife really stands out in particular . |
