Severed is about 30 minutes to 1 hour of gameplay. Pretty much the same like the main game. You'll get Gabe's Seeker Rifle and his rig for Isaac's story but they are pretty much useless imo. 90% of the environments and enemies are taken from the main game. Kind of regretted buying it since it doesn't do anything to the main storyline whatsoever.

Anyone complete Hardcore mode?
Any tips? I was on my Hardcore play through and everything was going fine. I was thinking hey Hardcore isnt so bad afterall. Then i reach the part where the game introduce the stasis and there is this necromorph running through the field. So it was like this is easy, aim and shoot a frozen necro. Wrong! The statis wear off instantly and the necro lunges at me. Well, you know what happens next And there was once right at the beginning, where you gotta run from the necromorphs. I made a wrong turn and yea, you know what happens next |

QUOTE(leonheart54 @ Apr 15 2011, 02:36 PM) Anyone complete Hardcore mode? that is still ok, for me its more heart broken,u wanna know what happen ok, so i used my 3rd save at chapter 10, after going through the last 5 chapters (in other words i already beaten nichole and shit) and during the ellie rescue part everything was going fine until i miss judge one of the debris and ran into one, and u know what happens next, i died then i rage quit, i guess i was too over excited that i miss judge Any tips? That's right at the start
I played zealot difficulty first so i knew what the hard parts were and what to expect. Been a while since i 100%ed dead space My tips are If I remember correctly my save games were at level 4 i think there's a bit where you can get 1 shotted there but i can't remember exactly, level 7-8(just before the elevator section) and level 12 (just after the driller in the tunnels) but that depends on how confident you are. Upgrade health first, then plasma and cutter depending on how many nodes you have. I had the hacker suit from playing dead space: ignition so that helped a bit. Never have more than 2 weapons in your inventory, because it affects ammo drops. I pretty much just used plasma cutter (and another weapon can't remember what but the shot gun weapon is useful) up to the point when the contact gun is available (when i just respecced the second gun to the contact gun to get the aoe stasis). The aoe damage and stasis is pretty imba for the later levels. Keep lots of health kits in your inventory and stay topped up, don't be stingy with using health kits. Other than that it's not that difficult though it can be frustrating. Do you really need another 1000/1000, you're running out of space in your sig This post has been edited by Kidicarus: Apr 15 2011, 02:58 PM |

@Kidicarus - Truthfully i actually have the Supernova pack DLC thus i do have a head start. I am using the forged plasma cutter and the forged engineering suit giving me extra damage and health bonus from med packs. And after all this arsenal of "cheats" in hand, i still died
Isaac Clarke Hardcore Journal of Death Entry #3 Heck so glad to finally be able to see that orange bright light of the store. Finally i can show off my forged suit and plasma cutter. Those necros are gonna taste that sweet beam going through their hands and feets. Opens door and OMGWTFKNNBBQ Tripod!!! |

if you have dlc, you should face less frustating moments than what i had, i finish hardcore with no dlc... what i did, i upgrade the stasis first, until got 4 energy, than 2 nodes on health...the rest go to ur weapon of choice. my opinion the most effective weapon is the blade cutter, it save ammo compsumtion and kill almost all enemy type except those pukers. second is detonator but you need to know exactly where the enemy will spawn so you know where to put them. |

@wunan - Well, i am starting to think that DLC doesnt really give you an extra advantage in hardcore
Isaac Clarke Hardcore Journal of Death Entry #4 Seeing that Tripod laying dead on the floor give me a sight of relief. The nightmare isnt over when necromorphs and lurkers start swarming into the residential apartment. Glad to see my lovely plasma cutter doing its job well. Then comes the exploder. It must be wise to use those explode pods against them. Effective and ammo saving. Good idea. Wrong!! While i was holding onto a pod, another exploder came close behind me, and without thinking, my reflexes took over and i press the LT button. |

Isaac Clarke Hardcore Journal of Death Entry #5
After the train scene at the end of Chapter 2, dangling upside down. Here comes a brute trying to maul you down and me holding the plasma cutter was undecided whether to shoot the brute or shoot that wire holding my leg. I laid a couple of shots onto the brute, and then i changed my mind to shoot that wire. Time runs out. Here comes the train. |

QUOTE(leonheart54 @ Apr 17 2011, 06:54 PM) I still do. You don't really need get to disc 2 without saving to get this achievement. Also, with the 360 version, you get a free checkpoint where you change discs (unless they've patched this) as long as you don't switch off the xbox when you die.But Dead Space is just way too good to stay away from. Still stuck at the beginning of hardcore, poor Franco... Need to get to disc 2 checkpoint without saving. |

You still do get a free checkpoint Thinking back it isnt really that hard to get to the free checkpoint. I only have myself to blame for not taking the necros seriously. In hardcore, you cant save on your stasis or medpack or ammo. You just gotta unload it all into those damn things. The brute just before the disc change, i freeze it so bad it didnt even have time to move at least 3 feet before falling to the ground QUOTE(xxboxx @ Apr 18 2011, 09:54 AM) Yea! Finally got through disc 2 with the free checkpoint. |
