Hello and welcome to this new thread .As the title stated ,only action figures in the scale of 4 inches and below are the focus here .G.I. Joe and Star Wars are excluded since both already have their respective threads .

I have been collecting action figures in this scale since the 80s ,beginning with G.I. Joe and Star Wars .

Few years back ,Toy Biz came out with Marvel Superhero Showdown while Zizzle released Pirates Of The Carribbean .
Meanwhile ,Indiana Jones Trilogy and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull by Hasbro and Appleseed Snap Kits by Hot Toys came out in 2008 .

In late 2008 through 2009 ,Hasbro released Marvel Universe ,Spider-Man and Wolverine Origins ,Mattel with DC Infinite Heroes ,Ghostbusters and Avatar,Playmates with Terminator : Salvation and Star Trek and Mezco with Cinema Of Fear Boxset (consisting of Freddy Krueger ,Jason and Leatherface) among others .

This year ,Marvel Universe and DC IH will continue the trend with more figures on the way ,and this will be followed by Hasbro's Iron Man 2 and McFarlanes' Prince of Persia movie line and 4" hyper-articulated figures in their brand new Playmakers line (beginning with Major League Baseball) .

So ,to kick things of ,below is my collection of Marvel Universe and Wolverine Origins .I mainly focus on Avengers and X-Men teams plus the villains of Spider-Man .In between ,certain superheros and supervillains are also in my list .

AVENGERS

L to R : Ronin ,Hulk ,Cap. America ,Thor ,Iron Man and Spider-Man

dxconvoy8 and mirage-rs : thanks guys.

As for your questions dxconvoy8 ,if you have bought Hasbro toys ,you know what to expect .Paint job can be inconsistent at times but the articulation is superb .Better than Star Wars and on par with G.I. Joe .

As for pricing ,back in December 09 ,TRU was having promotion for most of the toys and Marvel Universe single carded figs were sold at RM29.90 .bought the Vision wave at that price .Also ,the Secret Wars comic packs were selling at RM39.90 then .now the price has revert back to RM 54.90 .Regarding discounts ,only TRU had offered me that .You can try Metrojaya and Parkson especially now as there are ongoing sales at those outlets now .

So ,if you prefer smaller scale figs ,then do collect them .I used to collect the 6" Marvel Legends that came out back in 2002 .

To other collectors of 4" and below action figures ,do share with us your collection . biggrin.gif

By the way ,here's some pics of Iron Man 2 action figures by Hasbro ,coming out in the next few months .These will be in the scale of 3 3/4" .Pretty solid figs considering their scale .

Thats the comicbook version of mark 1 u put under the movie line.
Yeah they all look great. Will be expensive to buy comic line and movie line.
Wonder how much will they be?
I remember ironman figures is 6" but now ironman 2 in 33/4". Hasbro sure know how to do business. Those who bought ironman need to get  again so they all will be in scale.
Wonder they will release any in 6" scale.
Hasbro paint job is lousy for the price we pay. Got to find the best paint job every time.
Dont seem to see a lot of marvel universe figures. Hasbro only bring in small quantity? Hope they bring in more, then can buy when on sale. smile.gif
*
Thanks for noticing that error .Corrected pic is in place now .
I did get the 6" Iron Man with removable helmet and that's the only one from the movie line that I got .But I'll be buying most of the 3 3/4" IM 2 figs .
Paintjob for Hasbro has always been inconsistent .Case in point ,G.I. Joe ,Star Wars ,MU ,Indiana Jones and even TF suffers from this .Hence some collectors would buy Takara's version .
Yeah ,and most dept. stores and TRU brought in at most two cases of MU figs per wave .

Here's some info for IM 2 3 3/4 figs .

IRON MAN 2 3 ¾” MOVIE ACTION FIGURES

(Approximate Retail Price: $7.99; Ages 4 & up; Available: Spring 2010)

Recreate the action and excitement of the IRON MAN 2 movie with Hasbro’s all-new IRON MAN 2 3 ¾” MOVIE ACTION FIGURES. In 2010, the line will include 17 IRON MAN action figures, as well as five supporting characters and villains. And not only do the figures feature excellent articulation, they also include a display stand and collectible “Armor Cards.” Each set of cards displays different parts of an IRON MAN suit - by overlaying the cards on each other, fans can create more than 46 different suits of armor!

Never tried camping at TRU . hmm.gif
It's all a matter of luck and being there at the right time .
As for case assortment ,there's 8 figs per case .

What toys do you have in your collection now?
I agree with you ,if can't find what you need at the time ,then you save cash .But in my case ,it's all matter of time .If can't find a certain figure now ,at a later time sure will find it ,and without me seriously hunting for it .Happens time and again .So cash will still be emptied from my wallet . biggrin.gif

I think Iron Man 2 figures will probably cost RM39.90 each .I will grab only a few of them coz not much of IM fan .
As for toy storage ,I tear each and everyone of the cards and just keep the figure .This is due to lack of storage space .And if i were to keep the boxes too ,I will need one spare room just for toys .If you want to store them back in box ,then one way is to carefully cut two or three sides of the box and pull out the inner tray .

Action figures, i dont have much really. Just one from each comic book movie i like. Silver surfer, Spiderman , colossus, superman, batman, hulk and ironman. All not in scale. Got some transformer too. U into transformers or only gi joe? I am very diversify, only get those i really really really like and can be anything. I am not a completist. No money actually.Hahahahhah.
Storage is a problem for me so cannot get a lot like u. Smaller figures, should need less space right? Unless u get too many then no space. If the details are good on these marvel universe, then maybe i will get some.
I though u collector guys will keep the card or something. Ok, then i am doing the right thing too. smile.gif

Do you still collect comics ?I had stopped my monthly subscription for about 4 years now .Still buying a TP now and then tho' .

I do collect Transformers but very few ,got about 20 in my collection .I mostly go for the villains and still waiting for vintage Soundwave done in Universe 2.0 style with loads of articulation .I bought 2 each of Galvatron and Cyclonus bcoz of the updated design and articulation .How about you?

Yeah ,I do have MANY figures but mostly the below 4" scale ,so can squeeze most of them in boxes .

nice marvel collection. I was trying to obtain the exclusive nick fury figure but failed. sad.gif
Can you post pics of the DC Infinite Heroes next to the Marvel ones? Are they to scale with the Marvel Universe? Every time I see them at the shops, I'm so tempted to get it but they look a bit smaller than the marvel ones. I also feel they are a bit overpriced as they come with no accessories.
*
Thanks .I am also searching for Nick Fury but it's not available at local shops .
As requested ,below is a pic of size comparison .I decided to include SW and G.I. Joe as well .
It's true ,DC IH figs are smaller ,with a whole lot less articulation but still acceptable and only few comes with accesories .Case in point ,Joker with his staff and Green Arrow with bow and quiver .

L to R : Marvel ,DC ,Star Wars and G.I. Joe

For TF ,I do collect some Autobots too but not much .Bought 2 HA Bumblebee last year and Samurai Prowl .So I'm not a true collector .I will be buying the new WST Blaster and Shockwave .Been hunting for WST Soundwave coz it's so small but has much more articulation than the other WSTs .No luck in finding thus far .

Snake Eyes is awesome ,period .He may have less action in the earlier cartoon seasons but he kicks ass in the comics .

As for the final wave of Secret Wars comic packs ,we should be seeing them next month .Perhaps same thing for the single carded figures .Yes ,Cage's cap is removable .

Thanks for the comparison pics. Looks like the only person Flash can take on is Stormie.  biggrin.gif

You're welcome .I think Mattel is using the cheapening technique by reducing the size of the standard figures and includes no accesories for majority of them .Plus charging them at the same price as Star Wars .The nerve!!

By the way ,TRU is now offering the earlier waves of DC IH at cheaper price of RM 25.. Some of them included Wonder Woman ,Power Girl ,The Question and others .

You're welcome .Here's my HT Appleseed Snap Kits and Army Of Darkness's Ash and they are also within the 4" scale .

Today's haul are the newest DC Infinite Heroes wave ,with new packaging and includes a collectible button with each figure .Some of the figures are taken straight from the earlier released 3 packs .I didn't expect this to be available on this month .

I skipped Joker although he comes with a non-removable fedora as he's just another repaint from the black and blue versions .

DC IH
Three characters ,each representing JLA ,Batman's sidekick and Batman's villain .

user posted image

APPLESEED
I bought the full set of 10 figures ,with each figure getting a duplicate .This is the only way to get the complete parts to assemble the Landmate ,which is not with me now .

user posted image

ASH "Shop smart ,shop S-mart!"
He comes with a detachable cloak ,shotgun holster and the book of the dead .I have two sets of Army Of Darkness figures but the other figures being the Knight and two Deadites are not with me currently .Awesome articulation for Ash with double jointed elbows and knees ,something unheard of at this scale way back in 2003-2004 .

Super Hero Squad is pretty much phased out around here these days.

darkshadow,

Where did you buy the 3rd wave for Secret Wars? I have only seen it once in TRU KLCC, at the time they only had one of each on the shelf. I only got myself the Hawkeye one at that time, and to my surprise I can't find the 3rd wave anywhere else for so long.
*
I bought all 3 SW Comic Packs from TRU .Indeed ,the first shipment for TRU was quite limited (one case per outlet) .However ,TRU had a restock of the 3rd wave early this month .There's plenty left at my TRU outlet .

As for Super Hero Squad ,I think some TRU may still have them ,though quite limited .You can also check out Parkson or Metrojaya as I did saw them early this year .

I have finally gotten the rest of wave 3 Secret Wars. A small part of me wants to start a DC collection too, but I can't justify collecting this line without Batman and Superman. Do you know anywhere that still have them?
*
Congrats on getting the remaining Wave 3 sets .You can try Parkson or Metrojaya for Bats and Supes ,perhaps they are still there .If you come across the Batman Public Enemies 3-Pack or Superman Public Enemies 3-Pack ,buy them as both Bats and Supes have more articulation than the average figure .I haven't seen these packs in my area .

Collect more JLA and Avengers ,then you can have them battling each other ,just like in the comics .

Well ,the single carded Deadpool can be found on local ebay ,selling at RM 49.90 .At least it was about a month or so ago .As for Deadpool with the humongous cannon ,TRU may still have it .The selling price being RM 54.90 IINM .I bought two of those for RM 29.90 each at Carrefour some 3 months ago .

Below is my collection of Aliens and USCM (United States Colonial Marines) .These are scaled at around 3-4" .I seem to have lost 3 of the Aliens as I can't find them anywhere .

Here's pics of the new Marvel Universe basic figures ,consisting of mostly X-Men members .Yippee! There's no sign of the final 3 sets of Secret Wars nor Wave 2 '10 MU at TRU ,as yet .

Finally found the boxset with Parallax ,after months of searching .These guys each come with added articulation such as ball jointed elbows ,knees and ankles .Now if only the female characters in this line are given at least elbow articulation ,I'd be very happy .

Here's some bit of news on Marvel Universe 2010 Wave 5 or Wave 10 if counting from the very first Wave .

Big Bad Toy Store has revealed the figure line-up for Hasbro's Marvel Universe wave 10.

So, which characters have made the cut?

Captain Britain

Ghost Rider

Multiple Man

Mystique (Fans' Choice Winner)

Wolverine (Team X)

Captain Britain is a fan-favorite with several different costumes to choose from...which version will we see?

Sharp-eyed fans may have noticed that the A.I.M. Soldier from wave 9 is very similar to the classic Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider, so it's a good guess to thin this is the version we'll get.

It's possible that Multiple Man could get a "Fans' Choice Runner Up" (much like Luke Cage did), since he was part of last year's poll, although he did not win....might he be the final figure that has yet to be revealed?

On the other hand, Mystique WAS a winner in the poll, so it's a safe bet that she'll be designated as such.

Finally, another Wolverine, but in his "Team X" uniform. This is the cool spy gear from the flashback tales in the early issues of the Jim Lee-illustrated X-Men series. It's unknown if this will be using the standard Marvel Universe buck, or perhaps rescuing a figure from the ill-fated X-Men Origins: Wolverine line.

IM 2 toys arrived at PG TRU on Thursday .Below is my haul .These four are the only ones I wanted from the first Wave ,ever since I saw the teaser pics few months back .Seems that War Machine and Iron Monger are hot selling figures .Plenty of Mark 3 on the pegs though . Am hoping that Whiplash ,Black Widow ,Nick Fury and both IM and WM with removable helmets make it's way to TRU soon .

On a side note ,I'm rather pleased with these figures but the only thing that bothers me is the ball hinged hips .This was last seen on X-Men Origins : Wolverine figures last year .Why can't Hasblow give us Marvel Universe type of joint ?The introduction of Armor cards is a nifty idea .You can swap armor parts if you own more than one IM 2 figures .Much better than the Fury Files on Marvel Universe line .
