Sony wise, backlit keyboard is Vaio S, but RM4299
Asus, no backlit with that budget, can consider Asus A42Jr/A52Jr, but design wise, depends
Thinkpads, none...

Enough unless you are into 3D usage in the photoshop...
but for nowadays get at least GMA HD that comes with Core i-series, its not that really expensive compared to GMA 4500MHD...
and Photoshop loves more RAM...

Warranty wise, of course Dell offer better but more expensive...

Most notebook also comes with 6-cell,
I supposed Malaysia is one of the country that only has the Asus N82Jv, people in US still can't get it, it not even released there yet, hence no review yet on the net.

So far only Y460, not much 14'' notebook with this kind of power laugh.gif
and soon to be released Acer 4820TG, though there's possibility having HD5470 or HD5650...

Well, this kind of configuration usually need 15'' or larger and now its cramped within 14'', so normally would expect some heat from it sweat.gif
Its also because the heatsink design, they made the GPU and CPU share the same heatpipe...

But its has switchable GPU, so in Intel GMA mode, should be no problem in heat nod.gif

wah.. so expensive.
got less than RM1500 asus?
for internet, watching movie purpose.
< 13" lcd
long battery life.
not netbook.

thanks
*
Nope.
Long battery life and under RM1500, can consider Acer 1410T@RM1499
its CULV notebook, performance is between netbook and regular notebook...
QUOTE(zeropulse @ Mar 16 2010, 10:12 PM)
Lenovo Y460 is out already..two specs, i5 430 and i5 540, ard RM 3600

Well, at the least, you can't compare their battery life...
How long battery life is long?
If under 4 hours, then Inspiron 13...

both don't have optical drive...

QUOTE(jordannoel @ Mar 16 2010, 10:28 PM)
thanks for all the infor, and the learnt terms "CULV" notebook which i dunno b4 and is the type of notebook i need.

So, can you recommend some CULV notebooks which is like acer 1410T?

Dell got any CULV notebook (12"-13")?

how much for Lenovo IdeaPad U350?
*
CULV is underclocked and undervolted core 2 duo processor, giving longer battery life in sacrificing performance but still much better than Atom in netbook. Acer 1410T is pretty much the cheapest around with this spec and form factor...

Dell, Dell Inspiron 13z(RM2.4K) for 13'' and 11z for 11.6''(RM1.8K)
If 12'' can consider Dell Vostro 1200 for RM1270, but its using Celeron M 550, RM1479 version for Core 2 Duo T5670, this one got optical drive.

U350 is around RM2499
