as for a42jr and a52jr, the difference is just the screen size, just depends your preferences.
should be rm 2699 and comes with win 7 home premium.

gaming wise, acer 5740g @rm 2999, toshiba l510-s4318b

dell inspiron 15 would be lacking in gpu power for gaming.

if something similar thin with Vaio X, then none, unless gone to Adamo XPS, MacBook Air.

doubt you would get better deal at shops, but if can, survey first.

not worth upgrading the ram since 3gb is sufficient for most normal usage with gaming.

variant core 2 duo and can upgrade to ati hd4330, but no dvd drive.
cost from rm 1699 (t4400, intel gma), rm 2099 (t6600, ati), rm 2999(p8700, ati) depends configuration.
