DoTA... HON!! xD i dont get it why they wont put DoTA... It is one of the most fav past time... once they say that it was cause DoTA is a map constructed under warcraft therefore not accepted... then accept HON! lol...

If Warcraft 3 will be played, then Dota should be included as well since it is using the same game engine...

OK, here's the difference between DotA and Warcraft 3

Warcraft 3 = a real-time strategy computer game released by Blizzard Entertainment
DotA = is a custom scenario for the real-time strategy video game Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne

If you can see to the link that I gave and quote, all the game list are game titles, not custom maps.

WCG is quite stringent with their game titles rule, while ESWC is quite a bit different. Hope the explanation helps.

Counter Strike also came from Half Life, similar to Warcraft and DotA.... yet Counter Strike was in WCG Malaysia before...

I don't see the logic why Dota shouldn't be included just because its a mod....

Yes, CS does come out from Half Life, but as a stand alone version of themselves. Valve produces Counter Strike as one of the game titles, just like Half Life, Team Fortress, to name a few

But DotA is not published as a game title, yet it requires Warcraft III to play the game.

Unless DotA is published just like Heroes of Newerth or League of Legends, that would make into the list.

Another year, yet another "OMG WHY ISNT DOTA IN" clueless nubcake comes along ...

Or maybe, you should just get over it and hope that we'll have ESWC.MY this year, since DoTA is in the selection ...

what TPK is saying is that just because Warcraft is being played, do not assume Dota is being played. capish?

as a follow up though, CounterStrike, while being originally a mod, is now a retail product on its own, not requiring one to purchase HL first. Dota on the other hand has never and like will never move beyond that, as there is no reason for it. if they were to include it, it would be in the form of HoN or LoL i guess.
