i check in Astro website and nothing specify on the ordinary decoder . But in low yat, i notice there are three brands. Nokia, Thomson and Philips?

Yes no solution but atleast wth Byond, its a huge improvement from ol;d decorder... Worth the RM20/mth investment still free till Apr 2010 so grab-it...Only experience lost signal during thunderstorm & raining cats & dogs..otherwise mild to moderate heavy rain..reception still good.

maybe the new decoder receives more data that is required in HD format, so the signal may be stronger and able to get pass through clouds and rains.. flex.gif
However, still need to try first

Only thing I can tell is new decoder uses different frequency for HD signal. So maybe that has something to do with it.

Yeh, it's astro policy to use decoders specially made for astro reception only. We don't have chance to choose what kind of decoders we want.

I think there are 3 types of decoders for SD programmes, manufactured by Philips, Nokia and Thomson. Philips and Nokia are fine. But Thomson somehow lack of detail makes Dolby Pro-Logic processors unsuccessful.
