Hi all, i just opened a public bank account recently, my account plan is "PLUS SAVING ACCOUNT"... Anyone have ideas regarding this account? I mean do i have to pay to go to counter or visit the atm machine? I saw some account that have to pay to do stuff like tis (BASIC SAVING ACCOUNT). I have searched around the public bank website but i couldn't found any information regarding the account, so hope the PROS here can share some ideas.
Also, what is the minimum age for applying for an online banking account? And are there any annual fees? Thanks you |

PLUS Savings Account
- RM8/pa for regular ATM Card or - RM12/pa for Day2Day VISA debit card - Unlimited ATM withdrawal - Unlimited over the counter transactions Not too sure if there is a minimum age to activate your PB e-banking channel but you may try yourself by activating it over any Public Bank ATM. The PB e-banking channel is provided for free. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Jan 25 2010, 05:01 PM |

Yes. If you choose to activate your e-banking service via ATM, then you will need an ATM card. But if you do not have an ATM card, you can only activate it through one of the customer service officers on duty in the branch.

QUOTE(chunf @ Jan 27 2010, 12:11 AM) But do we have to take a number to update passbook? Public Bank is well known for their fast and efficient counter service that no other banks in Malaysia can rival. It will be your turn in no time. |

I believe that you no need to queue/take number to do a passbook update.
I did that before without taking number. |

pbebank online banking does not close shop after 12pm...not sure whether has the new maybank2u improved or not, they used to close for maintenance everyday once the clock strikes 12am...
public bank machines (cash deposit machine, cheque machine, etc.) by far still one of the most efficient ones i've used...it annoys me when the machine keeps on prompt u to re-insert the notes for recount....never really happened to me in pbb... but in terms of interest rates in saving acct, don't think they're the best...for certain acct, u wont get saving interest rate at all below certain amount like 10k or something like that... credit card sucks eventhough i've been using for years...hardly any promos or benefits...one thing for sure, their credit card call center's service is gooodd...don't really have to wait too long and i can even call them late at night... |

Indeed. It is online 24/7 but certain transactions will be deactivated between 12am - 6am such as bill payments, fund transfer etc. Maybank's site always goes offline between 12am - 1am. Same goes to CIMBclicks. Only if they would install more ATM in the whole Malaysia as well as replace all the current ancient NCR ATM. Anyway, i noticed they have indeed replaced some of their old NCR ATM with the new NCR SelfServ 22 Touchscreen ATM. Just hope they will install more such machines soon ! The interest rates for savings account offered by the BIG THREE (Maybank, CIMB Bank and Public Bank) are more or less the same. One has to go to the smaller banks such as RHB Bank and AmBank for better rates. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Jan 28 2010, 04:14 PM |

Greetings,
I was wondering what are the pre-requisite for me to apply the Visa Day2Day Debit card ? Previously I went over to one of the PBB outlet and to my surprise is they said my account is not eligible to apply one. My account was something known as I-Syariah etc .. and it was opened approx. 4 to 5 years ago. So is it by applying the PLUS Savings account will permit me to do so ? Btw .. does applying this PLUS Savings account will be able to support my application for credit card as well ? Thanks in advance. |

Just go to one of the customer service counters and tell the officer on duty you'd like to apply for online banking. You'll be asked to fill in some forms and they will give you a randomly generated password through a sealed letter after that. You'll be able to access your online banking account after 7pm that day. |

WTA: I have a PBB savings account and have online banking; my law firm gives me their PBB banking account, can I make a direct online transfer from my individual account to their company account? cos not sure if there is restriction to transfer from individual to company; the company has to be registered with pbb?

Hi!
Does anyone know how long does it take to get the activation pin after the card is received? I just got the card (PB mastercard), so I'm just waiting for the activation pin. Is there any other way to activate it besides waiting for the pin? I know MBB allows for activation via SMS. |
