I'm in dilemma about which brand or graphic card i wanna put into my pc to play wow, what do all the pro's recommend, that functions better with wow.?

wow? haha, even intel gma can handle this kind of game, no need to powwdderful ati or nvidia...

my budget is about 1000 to 1500 for graphic card

RM1k~1.5K graphic card for WOW is kinda overkill...
But since you had that budget, go for HD5850/HD5870.

i play alot of other games too, but main game in the computer is wow.

i think better u spend on other things like proc
that kind of budget to just play wow.. well..its such a waste.

Two important things to get for WoW; Graphics card and CPU.

I'm using 8800GTX SLI (still going good) but am CPU capped; so an i5 or i7 might be good idea as well.

On graphics side, recommend you use single card. I've used both ATI and nVidia, and I have to say go for nVidia as their drivers are generally more stable based on MY experience.

A single 9800GTX or above should suffice for WoW.

Nvidia, the way its meant to be played.

Just get a cheap RM300-500 card for WoW.

It's the other games' requirements that you should be worried about.

Don't understand why which brand of graphic card matters to WoW...any brand will do, state your expectation of the graphic detail and your budget, not which brand.

Both brand are good for WoW.

im playing on i5, 4gb ram and ATi 4850... all full setting running @ 80-120 fps anywhere in the Northend...

I am using a ATI card, window mode no problem at all...

Maybe WoW with Full Graphic, esspecially the shadow detail which FTW.
but i believe you won't just playin only warcraft, other high-end game like Crysis or blah blah blah?

only on some and it was due to firmware issues (which causes some crashes/ dc)...
it has already been fixed...

LOL yeah, because im upgrading my computer to start wow again, been a long time since i played. got 3 lvl 75's then stopped for like a year. so need to know if the graphic cards will be ok.

yeah i dont only play wow, Cod4 mod 2 multi player, crysis and all the high end games.

cod 4 mod 2 isnt really a high end game. but if u really want a good pc go do some research and check your budget might as well get some thing that is releasing soon then to get released stuff. imo

I used to play wow on my C2D 2.66 ( they dun make this chip no more lolx) and I still am playing it on this! My gfx card was the X1600 up until a few months back where I decided to just get a 1gb 4850 due to decision to use 32inch lcd tv and a 19inch lcd screen. yeah i run 2 monitors at 1 time. Heck I still can play wow so gfx card or cpu power aint gonna make a diff if u're deciding to buy stuff 1 year old. I've had thsi pc for the past hmm.. 3 yrs or more i think so the mobo n proc still can power!

do remember that each expansion comes with a decent graphical upgrades, i play at Azeroth now running on 150fps capped, Outland 120fps and Northern at 80-120fps, depending on location and people...

where can I buy the Direct2D card? I want all my games to turn moe.

Get ati 5870, direct x11.. bang for the buck if you want to spend 1.5k on a GC. But i assure you really need a good setup if you want to use this card.. like mine.

How do u guys get 80-120 fps in northrend? face sky whole day?

Mine is always at 60fps, dal maybe 30ish fps...

Is it because I maxed all settings and multisampling?

my current spec gfx is gtx275 i7860 4g ram...

or is it because you guys oc some stuff?

60fps is the cap if you have vertical sync turned on. Or off I can't remember

in dalaran, it mostly ±40 fps... in raid and instance or maybe outside it varies around 80-120 fps... i turn off vsync and max all setting out. Running on i5 750 @ 3.5Ghz, ATi 4850 and 4GB of ram. The only time my fps ever to hit 30 is during wintergrasp.

err... the frame rate has more to do with your CPU than your GFX card. WoW is unique like that.

WoW is CPU dependent game, so a very strong CPU is a must, the next come in GC and then Ram.

ya wow is pretty heavy on the processor over the gfx...
from my fren's personal experience, he got the biggest fps increase by getting i7 over a new gfx...

The whole PC is a System, or RiG. CPU is Central Processing Unit, or the Processor.

This is the reason why WoW can even support by cheap Graphic Card.

i herd it's 30% faster than i5, but cost an arm and a lag (a pun becoz i'm spiking 4k running oculus) to get one...

I'm not sure due to the reason I've untick vsync or that I've just so kebetulan updated my gfx driver recently... my wow now sometimes hang for 1-2sec or more/less... id rather stick with vsync n get capped for fps just to avoid that weird hangs

weird hangs? never occur to me thou, just some screen tearing sometimes

and nowadays when an encounter with boss begins, I dc,
during encounter i dc,
b4 encounter like buffing also dc,

what is going on? using gametune, last time was heavenly, just recently few weeks getting so bad

when it comes to disconnecting... you know who to blame.

screen tearing is the screen went randomly right and left on uneven proportion, like only the upper half went to the right for a while and then recovers.

I herd overclocked i3 and 5750 is gud value 4 money lulz

happened to me few times esp when moving my monitor, then need to use reset button to adjust again

i3 is overpriced as of now, the same price ratio AMD proc + mobo gave better performance. HT is overhyped, a 2 core will always be 2 cores.

i3 with H55 mobo would easily set you back at RM800, with the almost same amount, you can get PII X4 955BE with some cheap AM3 mobo. more performance and its a true performing quad core.

lol i would say if they ever dropped, it would be around 5-10% only. but still.

i'd say 2x 5870 is just sweet and would last for at least another 5 - 7 years, if your not being too picky with the graphic performance 3 years after getting the cards.

and it's february already... when will nvidia fermi be coming out? feb 29? i'm still waiting for ATi to drop GC's price, 5-10% still ok for me
