so am i right to say bigger aperture size = shallower DoF ??

if thats true..then 85 F/1.4 < 200 F2.8 < 135 F1.8..

p/s: sorry..too sleepy..focus distance should be one of the factor for DoF too...

wow..love this one bro~! works very well on me =D

QUOTE(hkhk @ Feb 7 2010, 11:11 AM)
NO it;s not true, should be

200 F2.8 < 135 F1.8 < 85 F/1.4
0.04 < 0.05 < 0.1m

The distance is calculated by assuming the focus is at 3 meter from the sensor, for a FF camera.
http://www.dofmaster.com/dofjs.html

Focal length have bigger effect on the DOF than the aperture
*
but base on ur rank..it seems like aperture has bigger effect...

Hi, I'm back with my 2nd attempt at silhouette.

This time I moved my furniture, pulled the carpet, arrange the curtain, sweep and mop the floor and took in portrait as recommended. (See the floor so shiny but still can see debris!!!  vmad.gif)

Took about 40 shots but not really happy with any of them.  sweat.gif (The sun was not bright enough when I took the shots)

PP done but I'm still noob in pp.

C&C most welcomed!!!  thumbup.gif

i usually prefer bokeh with slightly softer edges..of coz it wont be as smooth as STF...but not too harsh either..

but somehow i get cat-eye type bokeh sooo often after i changed to FF...i think i stil love my big circle type of bokehz...lol

thanks bro. so i dun need the trigger thingy?
OK BRO...it works... thanks alot.

one more question tho, let say i upgrade my camera to A850, i still can use my lenses right? i have  10-20mm, 55-200mm, 50mm f.1.4, 105mm 2.8 and 18-200mm. or do i need to get a new one for this model?

thanks
*
not really..most of the lenses u listed are not FF lenses..from what i see..only 50mm and ur 105 macro is a FF lens..

and take note 850 has no pop up flash..so if u wanna do what u just did on ur a700..u have to either get a F20..or some wired/wireless trigger...

imho, even u crop out fr a 24mp to 12mp....  i dun think the pic will b as sharp as u shooting it directly fr apsc....  tat's my tots
*
i do cropping often too...especially when shooting kids coz i cant control them very well..so when they were running around..i might get some distracting stuff in the shot....i do crop 1/2 of the photo b4...imo the image is stil sharp..in fact if u dont view it larger than 1920 x 1280..i dont think u can tell any diff...

QUOTE(jdreamer @ Feb 9 2010, 03:03 PM)
So tired of people debating on Nikon vs Canon issue. Nikon users will come and tell me that "hey, your canon sucks" and Canon mates will approach me and bad mouth Nikon as well. Retarded attitude, really.

Thinking of switching to Sony so that I will not be involved in that silly debate all of the time. Currently using a 40D. Which body is roughly the same level as 40d? biggrin.gif
*
bro..don bother those fanboys..if u enjoying ur system..u should continue to use it..furthermore..if u change to sony..u might get more from them..LOL...thats something we had to get used to it.. =)

anyway..i if u not getting FF..maybe u shd waiting a lil longer for a700 replacement..and meanwhile have a serious thought about whether to jump ship or not...
