Dun believe in brand war. A camera is still just a tool. Canon is NOT the inventor of the camera anyway, so what makes him think that Canon is not a copycat in that sense? laugh.gif

Which lens would you choose (for value for your money)?
1- Samyang 85mm f1.4 (manual focus? )
2- CZ 85mm f1.4 Planar T*
*
of coz CZ...even score high marks in sharpness in wide open aperture...

for apsc i would say tht a short range prime like 28mm or 30mm would fit perfectly....
for me i am using cz1680....its all depends on your budget...

I just reached 1k on my a550 and I'm so glad I chose this camera as my first DSLR. From a point-and-shoot compact camera to a point-and-shoot DSLR. For me, nothing beats that!!!  rclxms.gif

limited budget :'( just want to start my 1st step to get into DSLR world smile.gif

I plan to get the promotion set, come with 50mm f1.8, but I read alot ppl say, for newbie, take kitlen better
*
kit lens is standard zoom while 50mm is a portrait prime...so a kit lens is a basic while 50mm is additional for beginner like u...

neo_lam: There is only one macro lens in the Leica M mount, and that is the Leica Macro-Elmar-M 90mm F4. Its minimum focusing distance is 77cm for a maximum magnification of 1:6.7x. If you get the Macro-Adapter-M you can focus to 50cm (1:3x).

Rangefinder systems are just not meant for macro, or a lot of things! Also by using the adapter you lose the ability to focus using the rangefinder. You also introduce more parallax error than the viewfinder can compensate for.

Do not confuse this with the D-Lux 4 which is just a rebadged Panasonic LX-3.
*
ya...but really interested on this different kind of focus system...and the large and clear viewfinder..!!
do u know anyplace can test the M9??

P.S.i think using Leica on street and candid shots are perfect, dint have any interest on macro yet...
