yea..nothing wrong ma..i never saw his sig...so i was guessing he is using FF 135 1.8/2.8...or apsc 85 1.4 lo...

somehow i find that the natural light(sun) in tw is lot better than what we have here..and they have lots of nice sceneries to compliment the nice models...
sharpness wise..err..i dont really find it razor sharp la..probably just nice for portrait....too sharp isnt a good thing for portrait....u shd try to use a macro lens for portrait and u'll know y =D

for ur shot..err..im not sure..maybe misfocused?

yup..sunlight is very very impt element as i mentioned previously..personally i prefer evening light..or early morning..the sun from 830am~530pm is just too strong for my liking.. >.<

u dont need to get any a380 guide book from us...the manual comes with ur camera is ur best "guide book"...lol....more importantly..make sure u google n understand those concepts like aperture..shutter speed..iso..metering..DoF....lastly..shoot more n work on the composition...taadaaaa~ u r done~


for the price wise..i cant say anything since im not in msia..hehe..perhaps the bros here can give some good shops to buy ur gears..but make sure u r clear of the price b4 u make ur purchase..alot camera shops out there r sharpening their knife waiting to chop a big piece of meat from newbies..

but its a shame for me to say that..because i didnt really read it =.=
for me..my method is that when i need something..i'd google it or try to search in manual..because by just read it i might not remember a sh|t..hahaz

u gf like it bcoz she love photography?or bcoz she wanted to have nice pictures of herself??lol..its very different u know..in the 2nd case..u'd most probably be her photographer...so just buying her a camera might not be enough =p

my manual is in the box now..lol..unless i have some doubts..else the moment i trying to read it..i fell asleep.. =p


well..actually my gf is interested in shooting too..but well..im lazy to teach her..hahaha..the basic knowledge like aperture..iso..shutter speed..dof..i think she already understood..

its easier to teach u when u have the camera on ur hand...try to google n read about Aperture and Depth Of Field..u would understand better how to get those blur background..

i think what he meant was that its good for both u n ur gf..since ur gf likes photography..she might not restrict u to buy gears(if u like it too)..unlike most of the cases..usually the wife/gf would make noise if we spent too much on photography..

1 camera..both the bf n gf using..it'd smoothen the learning process as both of u might know diff thing and can share among urself easily..isnt that good ^^

my gf has a better sense in composing portrait than i do..and she is more sensitive to color matching..

thats y she always has complains when i shoot her portrait..lol..telling me i shd shoot from this this this angle and she wants to include this n that..blablabla...hahaz..

with their natural light..i don think flash is needed..probably a reflector is good enough...

from the bright sun out there..i think reflector is good enough to light the girl up.....there r chances he jsut play around with the EV or DRO..dont even need any flash or reflector =p

its mentioned at the bottom of my reply ma..use kitlens..lol..but if the kit lens is 1855..it might b a lil bit short for some macros..

it depends on what u need..versatility? or quality?the common understanding is 16105 produces good image quality as it was initially designed to be the 1680 successor...another thing to note is that zooming to 250mm with F6.3 is not easy to shoot if the sun isnt bright enough..

haha..that was a trade...i bought her a LV bag in return(altho my a850 stil slightly more exp than the bag)

instead..spend more effort to improve ur shots...let ur photos do the job..if he stil doesnt appreciate it..well..at least i hope that ur photos manage to convince other people that good or bad photo..it has nothing to do with the brand at all..

to be frank..i have no fren around me using sony dslr....they r using other brand's high end models like D700..D300..5Dm2..1Dm3..when i told them i gonna get sony..they dont quite agree too(altho they were not as sarcastic as ur fren)..infact im getting 1 of the cheapest model from sony..a300....u can tell how much diff it was..but around 6 months after i started my photography journey..altho im stil nowhere near "pro" yet..but i can see their attitude changes alot....if someone really love and know what photography is all about..im sure they will appreciate the effort u made to make things better...

p/s: serious..would u be happy when someone saw ur photo..and the comment was "Wahhh...u using XXX camera??wow...nowonder the photo so nice la..! " hahaha..i wouldnt be happy tho..

no..i'd suggest to keep it and change when replacement launched..no point to change now..and see replacement come out..then change again..

not everyone suitable for FF ma..sometimes the crop factor means alot to others..

Added on January 28, 2010, 3:22 amhaha..i have slight disagreement here....i think qualified to criticize or not..its not depend on the camera he/she using..its based on how much he/she knows..how good his/her photos are...based on albnok knowledge..i thikn he has all the rights to criticize a camera(regardless of brands) even if he only use a100....using good exp camera doesnt really make someone a big shot...
