To get pure THX sound all equipment must have certified from THX. Some people say, optimize sound is not so good as original THX certified movie.

BTW, THX is not a sound format like DTS-HD/TrueHD. But THX, DTS-HD or TrueHD have similar purpose to deliver the audio signal exactly as the film studio intended.

i know all about equipment that you mean...but i already tried by my self and read some review
from mat saleh oversea they also tried and the result is very impressive....
Now i come to this HT forum try find somebody otai2 who ever try using normal equipment except AVR
play2 with THX speaker setting...
but until tody nobody try it ,i think....

last time my avr was pioneer with THX select 2 (2nd stage THX) only normal DTS/DD...
during this time i feel that sound so powerfull if compare with DTS/DD alone.
Now my new upgrade is DTS-HD/truHD combined with THX ultra 2 plus (6th stage THX) ....
everybody know DTS-HD/truHD alone was so awesome, imagine it if you combined with THX ultra 2...

bro.. no more test2 ... from first day i bought my new AVR , straightly using THX setting....

do not listen to who never try this even salesman in HT shop...because i already ask and
they said you need this you need that...like you said....

i know this is not 100% pure THX... but if you can feel 50% of that...batter than nothing right...

from my understanding , Malaysia only have LX-90,LX-82,LX-72,LX-52,vsx-ax4as,vsx-ax2as come with THX cer...
last year during AV show they offer Vsx-ax2as for only RM2999 compare with normal price RM4600.
Now if you go to HT shop they have only LX series...i think LX-52 maybe RM5K... or more....

THX is only a certification. You only pay extra for the certification. I great av component don't need that certification to sound great. Its more of a marketing gimmick.

Its like our potong car with the "Handling by Lotus" crap. Does it make the potong car better?

buy and test it first i bet u you will...

have you own potong car with proper setting/tuned .... even though you have super duper car like ferrari
but you never test it to the limit you will never know how powerfull ferarri is....

Not to say waste lah. If you happy with it then its good. But I just don't see how THX can add quality to the overall sound. Like my SVS is not THX certify but it booms 10 times better than in the cinema.

my sub only JBL pb-12 but for my small room 9x8 feet i think it enough to shake my sofa...
but i'm plan to upgrade my sub mybe end of this year.....svs pc12 plus perhaps....

cinema in kl got very good sub.

Cinema only loud...hardly can fell the rumble.

GSC have a good sound. Both sub and speaker.
I really wonder how many channel are use in cinema and what type of audio decoding thier are using.

they used only normal bookshelf spkr and Velodyne subwoofer...
Playing Terminator 2 ...i remember the sound come from subwoofer very impressive...
Z9 only THX select 2 correct me if i'm wrong..
but this setting they used 5 or 6 years ago ..now no more

I also want sombody expert judge if THX setting is batter than normal set up..

it's more than rumble. in fact to much rumble n sound pressure. watching terminator salvation makes one breathless

if somebody sit in front row..maybe can feel the rumble....
