@Grrr & Falk
all rounded map - a random map will be drawn and that map will be played by all teams on the first round such goes until the finals which would be the best out of 3 games played with coin toss for map veto

@Flak
The ban filtering is such like players whom are no longer considered an amateur would be filtered from this tourney as such it isn't easy to identify other players being just not placing top 3 or 8 in few certain competitions.

To avoid history from repeating itself, we decided to place teams and players whom status are unknown into a grey zone where they will be filtered not only by us but by a certain number of anonymous members whom is or was involved with the Msian CoD4 community as representatives. I am certain this would help filter off players whom failzor to be amateurs like XIII Oth3rguy n Nih biggrin.gif.

Basicly we are putting this system on a test run to increase the effectiveness of later tourneys

Ah, basically the EU small-event standard re: maps. That's a good evolution from the currently adopted format imo - this way instead of blaming random maps, teams will have to properly learn all maps as they'll all be played, which will lead to better performance overall in the long run.

this list was created based on past results... we don't want a retired team, who used to be competitive, but still going strong during scrims and other online tourney's like the ACC to come kick ass.
Sorry eG, but if we didn't ban teams like you, it would be RAT all over again.
Just take a look at the winners of RAT, they were players who've performed in the first ACC and also other tournaments, just that they weren't active when ESPGL came along, so they weren't banned.
It took us a couple of days to put in a fully filtered list and direct it towards people who really have never experienced a full on tournament before with equal competition on all ends.
Think of it like the very first Amateur league back in '08-'09. This brainchild came from that success, and we hope to bring it back.

Added on January 21, 2010, 1:53 amall suggestion of who else should be banned is welcomed as well, just email those given emails, or directly write in here, and these players will be weighed upon. Please and TQ <3

Should put Smalltown in so all the participants get a leg-up practicing that map and smash the current top teams if/when the maps go official tongue.gif

I can name at least 1 person who is still bitter about not being able to participate in RAT. Whether or not he deserves it based on smashing noobs is a different thing entirely, especially since he pushed so hard for himself to be in it. =)

Thanks fer the suggestion mate, but a little too late =( Don't think many Malaysians are aware of mp_smalltown or how to even get it. This NAT idea developed about a week and a half ago, and we wanted to do it as fast as possible with the chinese new year holidays coming along and all. Didn't think about it, but probably the next event that comes along aye?

As soon as the demo's for how EU players play mp_smalltown comes out, we'd chuck it in =D =D =D =D =D

It ran in last years halloween tek-9 cup right?

Uhm, no you can't use them, this is kinda strictly for Malaysian newbies only, sorry =(

As for Rx, They have performed well yes, but haven't participated in any online tournament like the ACC, and/or scored any podium finish yet, so NO, they won't be banned. Anyways you never know what flukes might happen to them if they join this one.

About map addition, i just want to suggest that it would be fun for existing members to try new maps and all that, unfortunately for casual community to even understand what is promod alone is already tough enough.

Unless all cybercafe owners are cooperative enough (which their not btw, we've tried a couple of times) to help add in the new maps and changing their cod4 to promod completely, it will be an added stress to help build up the community faster and more effectively.

Just as chikhan puts it

"Thanks fer the suggestion mate, but a little too late =( Don't think many Malaysians are aware of mp_smalltown or how to even get it."

And i totally agree. Kudos on the work of this amateur tournament guys! I hope after RAT, this competition shouldn't have that much of a complication(s) towards the ban filtering anymore.

It was a joke heh, none of the new maps are anywhere near ready for serious competition. A couple are really close, though. As a reference, CIC7 (NL version, main event) won't be using any of the new maps just yet and that's in March.

That was a cup specifically meant to get people into testing the maps, if you read wizinium's blog/comments. They're not completely competition ready just yet at the same level of balance/play that made the community drop Vacant, i.e. the standards are quite high.

That being said obviously it's a good idea to start practicing routes/nades/geekbangs in them even now regardless of how close to completion they are. A leg up is a leg up regardless of if the maps come into play tomorrow, 3 months, or in half a year. tongue.gif
