QUOTE(streamer2005 @ Dec 20 2010, 09:17 AM) I'm using an old Sharp 37" LCD (the model with speakers at the side) and thinking of upgrading to a full HD 40 or 42" LCD... Very satisfied with the sound produce from my Sharp and I have no need to add any external speakers. I wonder if the Sony has adequate speakers which can match my Sharp? Really interested with this package with the bluray player included :-) Any ideas? Once you have a proper HT, you'll realized how all LCD speakers sucks... My advice:going from 37->40, no difference. Go bigger...50". and save some money on a dedicated HT, or at least HTIB.

QUOTE(bigbangformula @ Dec 20 2010, 12:01 PM) Since we're getting to speakers,do u have any good HT to recommend? My budget is RM600 or less, cheaper the better, but I can't probably get a very good one with this budget right? And what's HTIB?Sorry I'm new to this stuff HTIB=HanTu In a Box....oopss...I meant Home Theather In a Box. Something like this...it's a DVD player, AVR, speakers, sub, all in one. http://www.panasonic.com.my/web/pid/7999/SpecBudget RM600...cannot get HT...even the cheapest AVR cost RM1K+, not including speakers and subs. Even HTIB a bit susah. I would recommend u to budget RM1K for a HTIB. And make sure it has at least one optical/coaxial input for your media players to decode Dolby Digital/DTS. QUOTE(bigbangformula @ Dec 20 2010, 12:55 PM) Oh,that's HTIB,I have always seen it,but didn't know that it's called HTIB But I saw the cheapest HTIB is RM600++ by Philips,is that good? And the link that u gave, that's exactly what I need,a new DVD player that can upscale to 1080p and 5.1 speakers But I heard Panasonic sound isn't very good? you can buy RM600++...but you better check out the sound quality and features...some don't even have optical/coaxial input...very important, coz u'll need this for ur media player or BD player to input the sound. Otherwise no surround sound for you, the only surround sound will be using the built in DVD player...and we don't want DVD anymore...Forget about upscaling. It's rubbish. Just buy WDTV Live and watch high quality 1080p HD files.

QUOTE(bigbangformula @ Dec 20 2010, 01:01 PM) Then how much is a WDTV Live now?And if I buy that and the HTIB,then what do I do with the DVD player from that Panasonic HTIB? WDTV Live=RM 299. DVD player use for decoration. Got nice blinking lights. Connect optical out from WDTV Live to your HTIB optical in. Now you get Dolby Digital/DTS 5.1 sound.

QUOTE(bigbangformula @ Dec 20 2010, 01:41 PM) I see,so I buy a HTIB system like that Panasonic link you gave, and the WDTV Live, then that's a pretty good setup already? Yes, just like my setup in my bedroom. I got a Samsung HTIB. DVD player used for decoration as well. Now all you need is to download those movies...

QUOTE(bigbangformula @ Dec 20 2010, 01:44 PM) I see,but total will be quite expensive too Maybe I can get the WDTV first to watch HD movies first? Yep, wise choice, if budget concerns. Get the WDTV Live first, then upgrade sound later. Once you watched HD, you never wanna see SD stuff. This post has been edited by Matrix: Dec 20 2010, 01:53 PM
