hi, anyone know where can i see morning offering to monk in yangon ?

It's a very common thing in Myanmar, however there's no specific place in Yangon to see this, but the most likely place would be to try your luck in the area around Sule pagoda. Be up before 6am, they start out quite early

in Yangon, do they accept USD or have to use Burmese kyat?
*
Mostly kyat. Tour agencies/zone fee collectors do accept USD

Those money changer in Yangon, they very strictly to foreigners Money. it have to be perfect condition like newly printed out from factory.

I think not so strict now. Notes with small imperfections still lepas. Doesn't have to be perfectly spotless, just make sure no tears or folds or very dirty

Ofc, it varies from money changer to money changer. Got a few at the airport, can try the next booth if they don't want

Worst case scenario, use that USD to pay for tours and ask the tour agency to return your change in kyat. The rate they give is more competitive than money changer wink.gif

Hi, I'm currently planning my itinerary for my Myanmar trip in January 2018. I have the following in mind:

Day 1: Morning flight to Yangon, take overnight bus (JJ Express) to Bagan
Day 2: Bagan
Day 3: Bagan, take overnight bus (Bagan Min Thar Express) to Inle Lake
Day 4: Inle Lake
Day 5: Inle Lake, take overnight bus (JJ Express) back to Yangon
Day 6: Yangon
Day 7: Flight back to Malaysia

Will the arrangement be too hectic for sightseeing? I'm avoiding domestic flights at all costs because of the price, and I am flying in/out to/from Yangon instead of Mandalay as I got my Yangon return flight tickets at a very cheap price with my AirAsia Big Points (RM198/pax).

Thank you very much in advance for your kind replies  smile.gif

Nope, it's actually quite doable with your current planning laugh.gif

Hi, I will be traveling to Yangon via Air Asia next week on the morning flight and then board the 8.00 pm bus that same day via JJ Express to Bagan. I am wondering if there is any way I could slot in a shower before boarding the bus at night? I am considering checking in to a hotel for the day but that would add up to my budget, but the thought of going the entire day without showering irks me a little.

Thanks in advance for your kind replies!  smile.gif

Yeah I guess there is no better way to do it. Will it be a risk to only look for a hostel/guesthouse only when I'm there? It's my first time there so I'm not familiar with how the crowd is going to be in January.

Should be fine, or just ask if u can ask for day-use of their facilities
